Chinese Virus May Have Infected Hundreds

Is it only me thats noticed it but more and more are not wearing masks in shops.
Morrisons last Saturday and Tescos Mutley Plain yesterday. 5 young people in their 20s 30s clearly not together all not wearing the bloody things which are useless anyway

Got to the serviced check out lady who I've known long time and said why are we wearing these masks when others aren't (clearly no exemptions before it gets jumped on) to which she replied we've been told not to intervene at all
To which I responded well thats that then and took it off. Up Morrisons Saturday four big geezers buying booze no masks and thought yeah who is going to intervene with those lumps. They made me look small in comparison

A mate of mine works in a takeaway and he says less than half have been wearing masks, the official guidelines are for them not to intervene. Makes you wonder why the Old Bill aren't doing it? Tavistock was quick enough to open the car park paying machines and get the traffic wardens back.

Taxi driver was saying yesterday that there are new cases of covid up at Derriford, he said his wife was a nurse etc.

Also heard today that there were cases reported at BD, up there in Roborough.

The World Health Organisation are suggesting that everyone over the age of twelve wear a face mask. They say that those in the twelve to late teens category can carry the same amount of virus as adults and can infect others just the same as adults.

Schools went back in Germany not too long ago and they have seen a rise in cases over there.

Good documentary on Channel Four last night and all the boffins say there will be a second wave, for which they are preparing for.

I don't think there will be a 2nd wave. Remember the furore over the packed beaches, Thousands protesting in Londinium, packed pubs as soon as the pubs re-opened? Nothing came of it.

Of course, the more the restrictions are lifted, and along with the huge increase in testing, there's bound to be more cases, but, Covid-19 is a very different beast than it was in March/April/may.

There will be spikes/outbreaks, but according to experts like prof Karol Sikora, the virus is now a much weaker affair than it was. Couple that with all the current precautions currently in place, Covid is now no more dangerous than the flu - which, will kill 6 times more people this coming winter than Covid!

Covid is here to stay. Better to learn to live with it, like other annual viruses and conditions, rather than keep all the current restrictions in place for god knows how long. We need to get back to somewhere near normal. The country needs to get moving. No fecker on the buses/tubes, planes. Millions all working from home, blocks of offices empty, teachers seemingly very reluctant to return to teaching etc etc.

I tell ya what. All of these people working from home and literally refusing to go back to offices playing the safety card, FFS, be aware. Many rumblings are surfacing on various platforms about bosses farming out these jobs to the sub-continent for a fraction of the price. Be careful what you wish for. If your job is something like answering phone calls, or telemarketing or similar, these jobs can very easily be done from Bangalore, rather than Bognor Regis.

Bloody hell, Plymouth teens come back from Greece and eleven have tested positive for the virus. Many went down to the Barbican for a night out not knowing they had the virus and probably passed it on to others, and so on and so on.

Let's hope this does not get out of hand and spirals out of control.

too late now as those people down barbican would have caught it and passed it on.... Plymouth will be in a lockdown next week hopefully not but with this virus being so contagious i cant see there not being one. Kids will be happy they get another 2 weeks off.

I was reading an article yesterday on the covid-19 virus and immunity. Apparently you do not get life long protection against the illness, only short term.

On the other hand, read an article earlier which stated otherwise.

We are entering a very interesting time with Universities due to return, thousands of young super spreaders who don't think the virus is their problem.

If you'd said we'd locked down two weeks late because we were listening to the business world and not scientists I'd agree with you, if you'd said we'd handled the PPE situation worse than anyone I'd agree again, if you'd said Johnson hadn't taken it seriously until he caught himself I would agree again but the facts are that we have more of a hold on it than many other countries. At the risk of sounding like I'm turning into a Corbynista, Corbyn didn't "support" the IRA or Hezbollah he said that without sitting down and talking to people you will be unable to understand their side of the argument and you won't be able to move toward peace until you do. Exactly the same thinking that ending up with the Good Friday agreement. Maggie T refused to talk and just tried to win the four hundred year war and we have the eighties terror campaigns and bombs on our streets all the time. John Hume realised this lack of talk was the problem and what's more its useless talking if you're not prepared to listen. The fact that Corbyn was unable or unwilling to highlight the difference himself is more than part of the reason that he would have made a useless PM.

I cant ever recall a speaker tell a PM to sit down....??  Not from my memory

For the sake of the country we need Rishi Sunak or even Jeremy Hunt to take over and steer us through Covid and Brexit.
