Chinese Virus May Have Infected Hundreds

Two of the youngest have passed away in the UK, one was 13 and the other was 19. Both were fit and healthy with no underlying health issues.

I see Sweden still have schools open, along with bars, clubs and restaurants. Life pretty much as it was over there.

Another six cases in Plymouth, now 50.

The official photographer of the PM, Andrew Parsons, has gone down with covid-19 now and he was at that new hospital in London taking photos of the premises, so he could have spread it around while there.

Row going on now regarding a British firm who made testing kits to sell abroad and also read an article about possible power cuts in the not so far off future.

Unprecendented times when two of the Tory rags are slaughtering the Government over their repeated lies over testing this morning. I hope people never ever forgot this hapless crew and their killing of 1000s

According to an article in the Guardian they are saying that the British Medical Association could give priority to younger, healthy people over older people and those with underlying health issues - i did read yesterday that those aged over 50 and in bad shape will also miss out on ICU treatment if it is deemed that they cannot be saved and treatments given to younger folk.

Gee, never thought I would see that in this country.

You'd get a lot more reads and likes if you stopped the emotive, Facebook hysteria angle Harve. Is Bojo hapless? Without a doubt, has he killed thousands? No the virus has just about managed that. The.thing is that if we filtered out all the lie claims and claims of mass genocide it would be much easier to hold them to account for their real crimes of being incompetent and valuing business over people (or heroes as we will be known for a few short weeks). I think also Bojo is being cut some slack because even a hippy socialist like me shudders to think what a fookin pigs ear Corbyn would be making of this if he was in power.

The Government are making a pigs ear of this no doubt. Whether it was the initial push for "Herd Immunity" and too bad if a few oldiwonks don't live through it, the snail paced route to lockdown, the refusal to join the European Ventilator scheme and then lying about it or the current reasons they are woefully behind on testing, global shortage of reagents which was completely refuted by Chemical Isustries Assocations.

I thought the point of leaving the EU was to secure our borders yet we were letting planes land well into the outbreak, yet are refusing to co-operate with other EU states. Yet its also funny that Austria was able to close its border with Italy despite both being in the EU.

So I agree with Harve on this one, a lot of deaths could have been prevented by the Governments shoddy handling of it.

As for Corbyn, I agree he's useless but he doesn't actually do much policy. He tends to defegate anything outside his personal interest, mainly supporting malign foreign Governments to his shadow cabinet. The person who is shadowing Health is Jon Ashworth who isn't a member of the cult and is pretty competent, so I can't agree with that either.

Oh well.

I see the Americans are also struggling with PPE and the like.

Wait for winter , without any change to that tens of thousands will perish.

That's not true. HIV doesn't have a vaccine and that can largely be controlled these days.

What we need now are some therapies that can negate the effects of the virus. They might be only a few months away?

Unusual comparison, as hiv you cannot be free of,  are you suggesting permanently having covid but it being controlled?

I would say we need an accurate test ,available to all that proves immunity? and whether or not someone has already had it that would allow a fair number to resume normal life........the problem is those that haven't had it or are susceptible that has potential disaster written all over it.
Difficult to achieve for now sadly.

Tbh I couldn't be arsed to engage with someone who clearly had not actually read what I said. My beef with Harve was with his tone of the post, I think there is enough bad shit out there without using melodrama. I also agree with Harve and you on the gobs handling of the situation, the only point we differ on is that Labour would do any better.
This virus isn't party political before its done it will kill many thousands in the UK and the world our reaction to it is only going to slow the effects of it Im not sure everybody really understands this yet?

China know that they have made a right mess of this. In just over three months we have over a million infected and thousands of deaths globally, and worse is to come

I hope that the globalalisation model will get realised for what it is, the biggest threat to human life and livelihood we've ever had. It's killing the planet and helping channel all the money to the top of the tree. If you want a scapegoat it's staring us all in the face.
