Motherwell boss Graham Alexander is believed to be the front runner for the managerial vacancy at Preston

Some front runner at 25/1

Lowe now 1/10 on

Some bookies have suspended the market on  Lowe.

its not looking great.

going by the abuse hes getting on twitter etc,

I wouldn't want to stay if moment hes linked with a job gets called a rat etc

It won’t help Argyle’s cause in trying to hold on to him!

It's pretty wild on there,

but like the rest of us they know nothing till anythings announced

Preston North End are closing in on the appointment of Ryan Lowe as their new manager, LancsLive understands.
The Lilywhites are on the search for a new boss after relieving Frankie McAvoy of his job as head coach on Monday.

Im hearing from a source inside PNE.

If its not Alexander... then somethings gone wrong in the final negotiations.

The main person who confirms transfers just before they are confirmed by the club has said in his usual way that it’s done with Lowe. Apparently we wanted Ainsworth but put off by compensation but I don’t believe that as Lowe will cost a decent amount too.

alexander was main target.
Then Ainsworth or Lowe.

Don't believe the compo stuff as Lowes recently signed a new 12 month contract that wont be cheap to buy out.

Looks like Two Grahams have said no at some stage.

we really do attract some idiots supporting this club especially on social media as posting Ryan abuse based on rumour and not fact is beyond stupid and ridiculous.

No doubt those same fans will be singing his name next week if he is in the dugout aswell and put it all down to bantz

Not only that but who could blame Ryan for leaving to club who will pay him more, give him a bigger transfer budget and have more intent on going another step up to the prem?

If he is successful a bigger club will always come in for him at some stage. If this is it, it’s a bit underwhelming that it’s just Preston.

I think it will be a mistake on his part to go there for the same reasons as above and from Ears.

Steven Schumacher is set to be appointed the new Plymouth Argyle manager, Football Insider has learned.

This site revealed earlier today that Ryan Lowe is quitting to take over at Championship outfit Preston North End.

An Argyle source has told Football Insider that Schumacher is expected to replace Lowe as manager rather than follow him to Preston.

Schumacher is now looking to forge his own path in management after a successful playing career spanning 16 years and 446 senior appearances.

However, the Home Park job will not be the former Everton midfielder’s first taste of senior management.

The 37-year-old took charge of non-league side Southport on a caretaker basis following the sacking of Alan Lewer in 2017.

Schumacher now faces the task of getting Plymouth’s promotion push back on track after slipping to three consecutive league defeats.

The Devon side travel to fellow promotion chasers MK Dons tomorrow in what could be the former Bury midfielder’s first game in charge.

PNE asked for permission to speak to RL
PAFC didn't want to allow this, but courtesy lends them to ask RL if he wants to speak to PNE
RL says yes I would like to speak to them..... PAFC now telling PNE the level of compensation required if they want to hire RL.....

RL sat at home waiting for the call... (not gone on team bus)..... while PNE are pricing up other options before they even start a conversation with RL directly, as it stands at the moment - the deal is stalling.

none at all on my part anyways he would be foolish not too go for an opportunity like that. Felt the same when the good Paul Sturrock left us for Southampton although the timing of that was utter shit given we were in the last few games of that season and almost lost out on automatic promotion as summerfield and blackley were shite as caretakers and ballsing it up.

Thankfully bobby williamson tap it over the line against QPR and the rest is history

Must admit I did think if he did go it would be to a championship club, although not one as mediocre as Preston.

I don't think this is a done deal by any means.

If it doesn't happen, theres gonna be a split in the fanbase for a while.

All the grief hes getting, for what right now is a rumour,

I'd be taking any job to get away from the club.

Things could be difficult for him with fans if he stays if he hasn’t traveled with the team.

The fans will get blamed if he goes but will influence Lowe not a jot. If you read forums as a manager you are a mug and are going to end up very bitter as there will always be detractors.

£250,000 is that all!!! hes on a 3 year contract we should be demanding more than that if we are to let him go.

that is not good business if that is indeed what he was allowed to leave for.

i hope at least thats just for him and not for him Schumacher and dickinson (the data guy) cuase that would be even worse.
