I suspect that transfer fees for loan players are discussed when the loan arrangement is first made.
Anyone think that PAFC and PNE might be targeting the same players?

not really different leagues require different types of players required and budgets of course not that Preston are rich and have shedloads to spend it will still be bigger than ours. So i dont see us going for the same players unless is some young prospect that has a bright future.

If we are targeting the same players as a long established Championship club, that would bode well.

ON THE MOVE
Alfie Lewis set for move to Plymouth Argyle after helping St. Pat’s to FAI Cup win in blow to League of Ireland suitors
The midfielder initially joined on loan from West Ham and then extended his stay at Richmond Park until the end of the season when his contract at Upton Park expired.
A return to Inchicore would have been welcomed by fans whilst his old St Pat’s boss Stephen O’Donnell was very eager to bring him to Oriel Park with Bohemians also interested.
Dundalk were leading the chase here having already brought in Robbie Benson, John Mountney and Sam Bone from St Pat’s, although Paddy Barrett rejected a move in favour of staying put.
But SunSport has learned the midfielder is set to sign with League One outfit Plymouth Argyle instead.
The Pilgrims were interested in the 22-year-old in the summer when he opted to see out the season with the Saints.
New boss Steve Schumacher – who was promoted from assistant after Ryan Lowe left for Preston North – has made the capture of Lewis a priority.

Steven Schumacher has admitted that former West Ham United under-23s midfielder Alfie Lewis is a player who Plymouth Argyle have had on their radar.
However, Schumacher did not confirm reports that Lewis was set to sign with the Pilgrims in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old signed for League Of Ireland side St Patrick's Athletic on loan from West Ham in February, ahead of their 2021 campaign, and the deal later become a permanent transfer until the end of the season.
"All I can say on that is that he was a player we highlighted in the summer that we were interested in bringing in because we thought he was a good player but he went back to Ireland, and played in Ireland, and that's where it's at at the moment.

Joey Barton sends message to Plymouth Argyle with Bristol Rovers defender a coaching target
Plymouth Argyle manager Steven Schumacher wants Mark Hughes to join his backroom staff at Home Park
Joey Barton claims Plymouth Argyle's public courting of Mark Hughes has only increased his value, although Bristol Rovers are yet to receive an official approach for the veteran defender.
New Plymouth manager Steven Schumacher wants Hughes as part of his coaching staff at Home Park but his comments on December 23, in which he confirmed his former Everton, Bury and Stevenage teammate is a friend and occasional confidant but also refused to comment on any links, appears to have annoyed Barton.
He's revealed that Schumacher privately made his intentions to sign Hughes clear via a text message earlier this month but no official bid has been made for the centre-back who's under contract at the Mem until the summer.
The fact Barton shares the same agent as former Pilgrims boss Ryan Lowe, who left Devon for Preston earlier this month, also means the 39-year-old is acutely aware of how much the League One club have available to spend on reinforcements to their coaching staff.
"I was surprised a little bit, another manager speaking about a contracted player as the Plymouth manager did. But, again, if they want him, every player has a price," Barton said.
"There’ll be a discussion financially between us and Plymouth. I’ve got the same agent as the ex-Plymouth manager so I know how much Plymouth received from Preston for the manager and they won’t be taking a player or a coach of mine for nothing.
(I wait until the summer when he will be free)

But he didn't talk about him , only said they was mates, Didn't say he was offered diddly squat.
It was the papers that claimed he was offered it
Barton can feck off and so can the gas.
We ain't gonna get mugged off by them.

Looks like the raid could be beginning
Preston North End’s new manager Ryan Lowe could be set to raid his former club Plymouth Argyle for striker Ryan Hardie in the January transfer window, sources have exclusively told Football League World.
Lowe made the switch from the Pilgrims to North End earlier in December and is looking to make some fresh additions to his squad next month.
And he’s eyeing up 24-year-old Hardie as one of his first targets, with new strikers high on the agenda at Deepdale.
Hardie was a Lowe signing at Home Park in January 2020, initially joining on loan from Blackpool before making the move permanent earlier this year.
Before the current campaign, the Scottish striker had scored 12 goals in 46 league outings for the Devon-based club, but he’s taken his form to new heights in 2021-22 with nine goals in 23 League One matches, with three assists to add to that tally as well.
Lowe is said to ‘love’ Hardie but any move for the ex-Rangers man would likely cost North End a significant fee with the forward on a contract until the summer of 2023 at Home Park.

West Brom forward Rayhaan Tulloch could be allowed out on loan next month amid increasing interest from League One clubs.
Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons and Fleetwood are all monitoring developments with former England U18 international Tulloch who has long been regarded as a youngster of great potential.

Those stats wouldnt make me want him as a preston fan when they need a striker who scores more than he misses.

Blah, blah, blah.
Won't believe anything until the deals are done.
Lots of Clubs will have had their cashflow severely affected by postponements

Agree with expats I reckon Hardie would go to Preston like an Argyle manager caught with the cleaning lady if given the chance.
