Another L2 reject? Manny Monthe From Tranmere is the rumored name I've seen mentioned along with Chris Stokes from Forrest Green. |

Surely Monthe would be a Torquay target rather than an "ambitious" L1 outfit? And they other fella would be the obligatory ex Bury signing. |

its not inspiring me that next season which will be brutal enough given the teams in it is going to be made any easier with a better defence with the names being linked and signed to play there. |

Quite like the sound of this one as well-if it happens. Could be a potential cult figure a la Mauge or Bradley looking at the comments from the Tranmere people, which the team certainly lacked last season. Seems rather daft to make judgements without even seeing the guy play of course but sometimes you just get a feeling about these things. |

| unlike with scarr who i am still not sold on i dont know this guy and haven't commented on him signing. I questioned why we are looking in league 2 for our players when we need defenders with experience of this league as let not kid ourselves next season is going to be another tough one. |

| We should be looking at players who can play at a higher league than we are in now ie CCC, asking a lot of a lge. 2 player. |

| Agree that an an ideal world Argyle should be looking at proven players with the capability of further upward movement but it doesn't look like being the case unfortunately. Adams made it very clear that the club was operating on a budget well below even average league 1 levels and, judging by more recent incomers, that would still appear to be the case. Looks like a trawling for "wee nuggets" is the MO being followed by the club-all very well for people to snipe at Lowe for buying at Lidls rather than Waitrose but that would seem to be allowing personal dislike to cloud any objective judgement of the situation as far as resources are concerned. Argyle have undoubtedly been more unfortunate than most clubs in this division with the fallout from covid in terms of gate money and income from the new off field facilities,it remains to be seen if the lifting of restrictions will redress the balance or if Mr Hallett will need to seek financial support from other sources for Argyle to have realistic aspirations of being a championship club again. |

Now that would require "ambition" which seems to be sadly lacking atm |

Didn't Argyle get a seven figure Insurance payout for the loss in gate money? Which would indicate the Club has done better than most in terms of coping with the financial impact of Covid. Does anyone know what profit, if any, the new facilities were forecast to produce in the first year? At the moment, Argyle seem to be following a similar recruitment policy to Swindon and Bristol Rovers-no transfer fees and just signing lower league "prospects" (although some are a bit old to be called prospects) or senior players no longer wanted by their current Clubs I'd have hoped that younger (under 23) players from Championship Clubs might have been on the radar-Waitrose quality at Lidl prices! |

I'm just commenting on the signings we have seen so far. Which seem to be like-for-like replacements for some of the players Lowe has moved on -an older CB to replace Sawyer and 2 fourth division "stoppers" to replace Wooton & Static Hopefully, I'm wrong and there are a few quality young players being lined up. |

its a guarantee whatever budget Ryan has it will be vastly greater than del bhey's under the reluctant one which he was right to comment on at the time, Simon is backing Ryan with getting the players he wants in some cases paying for them and getting key players tied down to new deals so if ryan did have a player in mind who was at a league one/championship club im certain he would at the very least have a good chance of getting them with the finances he has. Its going to be interesting where he signs the other players we need excluding the defence from and whether they are from the lower leagues too. |

| I'm not saying that there are no league 2 players who couldn't play at a higher level but usually when a club has one of those players they usually know that and value him accordingly. Free transfers from League 2 are going to be a gamble like last season was, personally I'm not very inspired yet. |

| There are more players from all leagues being released for financial reasons rather than lack of ability this close season, but also nearly all clubs will also be operating under financial constraints resulting from last season and the Covid unpredictability for next season. To note Argyle’s insurance cover did not cover all the financial implications of last season |
