I'd keep Wottsie in some kind of coaching role, we made a big mistake letting someone like Larrieu go.

OK Iggy....I didn't realize fun was aloud on here  Surprised

McCormick,Nelson,Trotman,Purrington,Parsons.Hourihane,Thomas,Banton.Alessandra,Reid,Morgan,Thomas,Harvey and Lecointe.

Sheridan as he has said needs leaders, talkers, motivators on the pitch.....and a New Captain.

I can't make my mind up about Young....promising,but we've been saying that for quite awhile.

Harvey and Lecointe need playing time....maybe on loan.

Keep Cole if we cannot find anyone better......Portsmouth used the crossed ball to score three goals....Cole just not up to it....although he is a good stopper.

What's needed......six or seven players that have at least Div one experience....no ageing has beens....and only youngsters from big clubs will be good enough......a gem like Lavery would be usful.

This requires James Brent to get serious....it seems we need to tempt good players (don't forget we're only one stop from America in some players eyes) so good contracts don't come cheap....if it means slimming the squad down even more...to pay those players...then so be it.

Okay.....I'm going to say it.....yes I do think James Brent can get serious.....but he needs to listen to the right people.....John Sheridan is one of those people.....those that frequent the Directors box should be ignored.

He has had reasonable success in his business career and should know that when his other ventures are not coming together as he wants....then he needs to change tack a little and get PAFC out of this basement division....which is possible if he talks to the right people..... Warnock and Sturrock are not on the wage bill, but they both have a soft spot for Argyle....they might give advice that no one else at the club is able to give.....and I think John Sheridan needs supporting by experience people not those that are hangers on.....of course it takes guts....lets hope James Brent has got it.....some will just want him to fail......others want PAFC to succeed whoever is in charge.

The only players under contract for next season are Lewis Alessandra, Jason Banton, Dominic Blizzard, Conor Hourihane, Marvin Morgan and Ben Purrington.

So that's 3 forwards, 2 central midfielders and a left back.

Having 2 goalies might be a luxury but this season has shown how important it is to have them so both Cole and McCormick should get at least an offer.

I'm very happy with Nelson and Trotman so they can stay but we'll need 2 more CB options as cover.

Purrington is a LB so he'll need competition. Parsons hasn't played much so it's hard to assess him but if he's not too expensive then keep him. We need 2 right back options. Maybe Richards and one other although we've seen precious little of Richards. I'd give him a go and he covers CB too.

In midfield we'd be daft to let Young go so he gets an offer. The same goes for Thomas, Harvey and Lecointe (who also offer competition up front). That'd leave midfield a bit lightweight so we need a couple of seasoned pros in there too.

We have to try to keep Reid and there's always room for a goal scorer so one other.

So that's a 23 of:

GK: Cole, McCormick
DEF: Richards, new RB, Nelson, Trotman, new CB x2, Purrington, Parsons
MID: Young, Hourihane, Blizzard, Harvey, Lecointe, Thomas, new CM x 2
FOR: Banton, Alessandra, Morgan, Reid, new CF

And thanks and good luck in the future to Wotton, Boco, Blanchard, Berry, Vassell, Guerrieri and Showunmi.

So that's a new RB, 2 CBs, 2 CMs and a striker that Sheridan needs to get hold of and they all need to be genuine 1st XI contenders. Ideally at least half of the new players would be captains at their current club because we almost need players that can communicate, lead and organise on the pitch more than we need skillful ones!

Just had a thought ..... why would any side in this division go with two good keepers. That's a luxury. I don't rate Cole anywhere near as highly as I rate Luke so he's the one to go. To sit on the bench we'd have Hannah & he'd have to do in an emergency. We'd then bring in a loan signing if we needed experience. That would free up Cole's wages. Remember, you read it here first.

This season is a perfect example of why not to do that.

Hannah is nowhere near ready as well - the lad can't even kick past the halfway line yet.

You need 15 quality players and then supplement them with loanees. You don't need two goalies as you can simply loan one if the first choice gets injured. Happened to us this season but is rare. Use the budget for fewer but better quality players.

Anyone else notice how brent's jamboys have managed to indoctrinate most of the cap doffing, forelock tugging little Argyle world into referring to the fine gentleman always as 'James Brent' ?

I know it's his frikkin name but in Geordie land it's 'Ashley', not Michael Ashley this and Michael Ashley that ffs !

Subservience and sucking up, a speciality of the small minded janner.

Wish this sort of thing was in place at Argyle.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Apparently, they were waiting to see what division they were in before proceeding.
