I don't know what Bojo is on about I am wondering whether they are trying a bit of project fear so that people don't just carry on as normal now or they are worried that the AZ vacc won't cope with the variants that are around now, I think the latter may well be the case. As for another lockdown I would rebel against that, we have survived and better than lots of people have but we just have to get back to work now.
My mates brother has just recovered from catching Covid he is the silly fecker I mentioned on here recently who has been using his finaciaer status to go shagging tinder pick ups in the Ukraine. He thinks he caught it in the Ukraine but got ill two days after travelling to Denmark to see some family. The worrying thing is he took two tests to travel and neither of them picked up te Covid he must have had at the time. If they want to tighten up and especially stop variants they need to stop the travel I don't think the tests are that good at all.

Heathrow has said that long queues caused by extensive Covid checks at the airport are becoming "untenable".
Chris Garton, chief solutions officer at Heathrow, told MPs on the transport committee that some travellers faced waits of up to six hours.
On more than one occasion police had had to intervene because queuing was "not something passengers want to do", he added.
Foreign travel is only permitted for certain reasons at the moment.
Mr Garton said that all passengers, regardless of nationality, had to be thoroughly vetted before they left or entered the UK to ensure they complied with coronavirus legislation.
However, he said that the queues would become a "much bigger" problem if rules on foreign travel are relaxed on 17 May, as the government is planning.

Currently, he said about 10-15,000 people arrive at the airport each day, and "certainly more than half are having delays in excess of 2-3 hours each day".

I think it is too late now regarding those two new variants and I can't see how they can be stopped from spreading further and farther.

Reading the comment sections of the newspapers I have looked at today , people are fuming and livid.

An easy solution would be to shut the airports, but it's too late to stop the variants we have and with those they should close the areas they appear in and make it law and 10k fine to break those restrictions. Every tme we make exceptions for Londoners and businessmen then the whole country pays later.

That Indian variant has doubled in a week , 160 cases now.

Government saying they have no evidence on the variant evading the vaccines but , on LBC last night a doctor in the UK - and of Indian origin - was saying he has spoken to friends  and colleagues in India and it seems that the variant is evading the vaccines. He also stated that the young and the infants are getting a bad dose of the virus in India.

We could be on the cusp of the Indian variant becoming the dominant strain in the UK.

Yesterday UK recorded fewer deaths and new cases per head of population than even Denmark, poor Italy now with far more deaths per million than us, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Hungary, Poland, all with more new cases and daily deaths, if only they had a Boris to lead them.

And if we were still in the eu then we would be in a far far worse position than we are now.
