Still not even a sniff of a rumour of who it may be. You can bet Norwich and Sunderland won't hang around making an appointment. Get on with it Hallett!

It's just typical Argyle.
Rather than waiting for people to apply, they should have started drawing up a list of who they were interested in as soon as IF was sacked, even if they had different lists if we were/weren't relegated.
Waiting till the season was over, looking through applications and generally dithering rather than making a decision means that by the time we get anyone in place, we will be a month behind every other club in planning for next season-does anyone really believe that crap about "everyone's on holiday, no one will do anything till June"-well run Clubs are talking to players now!

I've followed Argyle for over 50 years and in that time some of the most "exciting" appointments have been a disaster and vice versa.
Shilton, Moncur and Brown certainly never lived up to the hype, while Dave Smith, Adams, Sturrock (and Shuey) achieved way above most fans initial expectations.
Perhaps the less exciting the appointment, the happier we should be!
As long as Dewsnip isn't involved in the choice we will be ok. Everyone knows he was behind the choice of Foster so keep him out of it or it will be another cock up.
Could be Heckingbottom. Did well at Blades until he took them up to the Prem. After the Foster debacle I wouldn't be too disappointed with PH. Can't say he hasn't got Championship experience.
I WOULDN'T HAVE PICKED YOU!' Simon Jordan CLAIMS He Was Proven WRONG Over Paul Heckingbottom

i think he would probably be the best option at the moment that would come here that has been a manager before and had somewhat of a 50/50 career as one and also been a coach at club level and had success as one.
so i have to agree i wouldnt be disappointed, i wouldnt be expecting the world from him as long as he has us competitive all season long, we make home park a fortress like before and we improve on this season league placing and results thats all im hoping for whoever takes over.
This chatter about Rooney is more than disturbing. Odds dont get viciously slashed after multiple bets without very real reason Its so far fetched that it could in fact be true No idea what Mr Hallett would see in him but possibly he interviewed very well

SkyBet still has Heckingbottom as 1/1 favourite but Rooney straight in at 2/1. After Foster I trust Hallett 100% to make completely the wrong appointment.

Sunderland look set to miss out on another managerial target, after suggestions of Paul Heckingbottom heading to Plymouth Argyle.
It was recently revealed that Sunderland-linked manager Paul Heckingbottom was set to be interviewed by Championship rivals Plymouth Argyle this week.
Since, it’s been claimed that Heckingbottom is the front-runner to land the Plymouth Argyle job this summer.
So Heckingbottom, who was previously reported to be Sunderland’s no.1 managerial target this summer, looks unlikely to be heading to the Stadium of Light this summer.
The Black Cats have now been managerless for more than three months and Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus appears to be no closer to finding Michael Beale’s successor.

Birmingham City join Plymouth Argyle in race for 46-year-old
Paul Heckingbottom is now believed to be on Blues' radar, which may concern Plymouth
Birmingham City have former Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom on their radar, according to a Patreon report from Alan Nixon.
Heckingbottom has been out of work since being dismissed from his role in South Yorkshire back in December last year.
And he has been linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle too, with Neil Dewsnip only filling in temporarily following the sacking of Ian Foster.
The Pilgrims are able to offer Heckingbottom the opportunity to play in the Championship, something Birmingham are unable to do at this stage.
The 46-year-old has already engaged in talks with the Devon-based outfit and is believed to be a strong contender for the top job at Home Park, but whether a move is pushed through remains to be seen.
Heckingbottom is due to have a meeting with Birmingham, which indicates that he could be open to taking the top job at St Andrew's.
Blues have been forced to search for a new boss after Tony Mowbray stood down - and Nixon believes they are working their way through plenty of candidates at the moment.

We can offer him Championship football this season but Birmingham can offer him a much bigger salary, much bigger playing budget and the likelihood of Championship football next season.
Only reason I can see for interviewing Rooney is that they are going to give the job to someone like Darren Way or Lee Johnson, then everyone will say "At least he's not Rooney"
