Brent emotionally blackmails Council - Club Statement

Delighted that Brents completley unworkable scheme has bitten the dust,lets hope he sells up quickly now the games up for him in Plymouth. ps The Bretonside project looks just what any Siren hearing Janner would want.

The ground was publicly owned and despite Tudor's promises PCC was unable to complete the ground. That resulted in the sale of the freehold which was supposed to facillitate the buiding of a grandstand but it didn't. The club's ownership then shifted to the New World and despite a humoungously grandiose plan they were unable to deliver and bankrupted the club. We were then rescued from administration by James Brent who took his time and came up with a sceheme reliant on commercial finance and now that has collapsed.

Why on Earth are we seemingly the only club in the land that cannot find a way to get a new stand built either with public or private finance despite everybody agreeing that we need one, there being unlimited space in which to build it and a local council quite prepared to grant planning permission for practically anything anybody proposes?

PCC have got this spot on. Bretonside is an eye sore. The arse hole of Plymouth centre.
Why should they fund a business owned by a very rich man that only about 2% of council tax payers actually give a toss about.
Brent has spent nothing, relied on hand outs from supporters and oh yea...an 800k loan from the council.

There has, unfortunately, been too long a period of uncertainty over the HHP development since the plans were announced back in March 2013. The ongoing uncertainty needs to be resolved as soon as possible in the interests of the Club, its supporters and also the city. The Trust hopes that the Club can find an appropriate partner to turn its aspirations for a new grandstand into reality for the benefit of everyone. As always, the Trust is more than happy to offer assistance in any way it can, whether through the AFT board or by calling on the skills and contacts carried by our membership.

PCC are not to blame. As laid out they have done more than they should have. Brent has done very little. Very little. He promises the earth and delivers nothing. Time to go James it really is. Take your sycophantic team with you.

How people can blame the council is beyond me - they really helped the club. Completing the ground became the new worlds responsability when they bought the freehold.
