Well it took some doing, but here it is, copied from my little spreadsheet my top 75 for 2011, a truly great year for some truly great music, if you knew where to look (certainly not the charts) had an open mind, and let yer lugholes listen. Music from all around the world, of most genres, nope still can't stand (C)rap and as for dubstep, just another word for (C)rap, fookin' DJ's who think they're musicians

Few blasts from the past there,didn't know Uriah Heep,Alice Cooper,The Cars,Mike and the Mechanics etc were still going.Is that all new material released by them? Been on a bit of of nostalgia kick myself recently,been listening to a bit of Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult.Do they still tour or release albums?

Yes all new material from Heep, Mike & Mechanics, and all the rest...


The Cars is actually their comeback album, since they called it a day in 1988, so 1st new material from them in 24 years.

Alice Cooper's is actually a follow up to 1975's Welcome To My Nightmare... and a cracking opus it is too, I would even go as far as saying another classic album.

BOC are still going, only live shows now, no new material since about 2000

Black Sabbath... well there's talk of the original 4 members doing an album of new material this year... but I wouldn't hold yer breath, as there has also recently been talk of dischord amongst them already... could all just be publicity to keep them in the eye of the fans though

Well, I guess it's better than watching Exeter, Sandy.

Boubacar Traore isn't half bad!
Tom Waits is always welcome.
PJ Harvey is good - if only for the autoharp.
