I don't know if there is a solution downtracker, but why did it start might be easier to explain if you are happy to relate to the Bible.

Abraham & Sarah where promised a son By God.

Sarah was old and had no son.....so she thought that she would help God out......and persuaded Abraham to sleep with her Egyptian slave Hagar.....and Hagar had a son who was named Ishmael.

Read Genesis ch16 vs 11-12 and you will see that God wasn't keen on being helped.

The result was the birth through Ishmael of the Arab nations.

You have started something by bringing this subject up....and we have to live with the outcome to this day of what happened many years back.....If you don't agree tell me how this hatred between Arabs and Jews started in your opinion........discuss.

According to the Bible the Jews took Palestine (The Promised Land) from the Arabs by force. Battle of Jericho etc. In Historical fact the Jews have taken Palestine from the Arabs by force, assisted by Britain and the USA. Of course the Arabs hate the Jews and the West, can you blame them

It's part of the human condition to form tribes, to split & re-split. To ascribe that to religion is facile. If we didn't have Christians, Jews, Muslims, whatever, we'd be fighting over what end of a boiled egg we attack first.

Can you not see how the middle east has been in turmoil for centuries....a local civil war is just one more brick in a wall of hate against everything that doesn't further your personal view and that includes not just non-Arabs but Arabs as well.

One of the first things that the Catholic Crusaders did when they took Jerusalem (that is after slaughtering many thousands of the Jewish & Muslim inhabitants) was to forcibly eject the Orthodox Christians from the Holy Sepulchre.

As Zyph has said, that region has been in turmoil for many centuries - certainly pre-dating the establishment of Islam or Christianity.

My point was & is that Islam has no monopoly on senseless violence and that violence in that region (& elsewhere) is neither a new phenomena nor one that will go away. Not so long ago we had the spectacle of Protestants & Catholics in the Northern Ireland. There was the occasion of the Gunni/Bere boys slaughtering the Plymouth gang at Goosey in 1974. The history of the slave trade, in relatively more modern times is littered with the involvement of Christians who also resisted the attempts by other Christians to put an end to it. The forcible conversion of "savages" in South America by the Christian church. Part of the motivation for British Imperialism included the desire to spread the Gospel. There have been the invasions of Iraq & Afghanistan prompted, in part, by Bush & Blair's religious motivations. The fighting in Bosnia, including the Srebenica massacre perpetrated by Christians against Muslims. Christian America's support for Jewish Israel against Muslims. And that's even before we include all the other factions fighting in the name of religion all around the world. Awful acts have been perpetrated by many many sides in the name of religion.

You say, "Its 2014 has nothing in history been leant ?". To which I'd answer, "Obviously not." Unlike you, I see that the blame for that is not to be found in naively simplistic & dangerous short-term xenophobic analysis. You seem to have a worryingly polarised ant-Muslim Crusade.

Amen.

If you believe the old testament writings, that goes back well beyond Christianity and Islam...the Israelites (Jews) lived in Palestine before any Arab nation.

Remember the biggest mistake that President Bush (the younger) made at the start of the Iraq war was saying that it was a crusade that the USA and it's supporters were on against Saddam and Iraq......that was a like red flag to a bull for the Arab world.....bringing back the memory of the crusades in the middle ages.

This was said by a President who had never been outside the USA until he became President....the diplomacy of total ignorance regarding world affairs.

Then it was the lazy workers, now it's the lazy non-workers. Tomorrow it will be the lazy retired. God bless the establishment and their media.

Definition of a quick moving economic environment:
Jimmy Brent skipping away with a nice bunce 6 months before Citigroup going down with $50 billion debt.
