Are you sure he just hasn't been set to work doing the season ticket renewals?

He didn't impress me at all on Tuesday. I had expected him to run rings around Tiverton's defence and he didn't beat his man once that I saw. He may have improved in the second half but I thought he was far too easy to knock off the ball as well.

Andres has played in the Pilgrims’ last two pre-season games, at Weston-super-Mare and Tiverton, and will be part of the Argyle squad that takes on Birmingham city at Home Park on Saturday.
He last played at the Theatre of Greens last season for Burton, who he joined after having played a full part in Argyle’s pre-season preparations under Peter Reid 12 months ago.
Fletch was non-committal on whether Andres will be joined at any point in the future by Welsh firefighter Rhys Griffiths.
The 32-year-old prolific League of Wales striker played for Argyle at Truro two weeks ago, scoring the goal in the Pilgrims’ 1-0 victory.
“There’s no news at the minute,” said Fletch.
“There are a few little bits and bobs that we need our attention. There’s no ‘yes’ or ‘no’ at the minute, and once a decision happens, either way, we will tell everyone.”

Good news. We needed someone with a bit of pace and skill on the wing - hopefully he's the man. And if we land one or both of the two strikers I understand we're in negotiations with, then he could be the guy to supply them with the ammunition. We may score some goals next season, after all.

Triffic.So far we've signed a crock,an unproven rookie,a goalkeeper with an admittedly decent pedigree and a player who we rejected last summer and whose main achievement last season was to not be able to maintain a place in a Burton team on a winless 20 odd match run.Still,never mind,if our 32 year old fireman can negotiate a career break and join us from the Welsh league,all will be well.

Is he our first ever south american player?

Apparently Griffiths' club is confirming he's signed for us.

I'm sure there are lots of excellent players who have chosen to stay non-league and play relatively locally and pursue a proper career outside the game rather than take a chance on a league career. He has been a top scorer for several seasons. He may do us a good job.

The official line from last year was that there was an issue regarding a former club and possible compensation etc.
