| Don't think anyone expected that even the Bolton fans. Worst performance of the season by a long way. Just didn't start at all, Wright lost his player for the first goal, and we were just so open at the back, we couldn't deal with runners, Houghton was nowhere, Matete was getting caught and there was just too much space. Couldn't blame Burton for any of the goals, he had no protection today.
Improved marginally in the second part of the first half, Hardie was unlucky, the keeper got a big toe to his effort, and Mumba went down with contact, but didn't look like a penalty.
Looked forward to a better second half, but a gift for their third goal, and poor defending from a corner finished it as a contest.
So, back to to the league and how we react is crucial. So far, after a defeat we've won the next game, so expect that to happen at Morecombe.
This will be forgotten after we get promotion. |

This will be forgotten after we get promotion. sunderland fans said the same thing when they lost in this cup final and they imploded. in fact just go watch season 2 of sunderland till i die you will see our season is mirroring theirs |

| That is the worst Argyle performance I have seen in ages. Outplayed, out thought, second best and hugely worrying to lose by that score. When the third and fourth goals went in many Argyle fans left in droves, my self being one of them when number four went in.
Bolton simply wanted it more than Argyle. No idea why Shuey did not play Azaz and Cosgrove from the start, as it could have been a different story perhaps.
The season could end in a total mess following that display and previous league displays at that also. If the side slip into the Play-Offs they will have no chance.
So annoyed at the lack of effort today, Shuey needs to get this team in earlier tomorrow and read the riot act to them. Six hours to get there and on the coach back home now , another six hours.

| My daughter, husband and friends left early because of the threatening behaviour by the thug element of Argyle fans towards them, it would seem they’re part of the group of Devonport enders who have no idea what seats are meant for, absolute knobheads. |

its an element that the club refuses to crack down on because they sing the same 5 songs over and over again. |

| Schumacher's comments on todays massacre [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - the link wrote:
- Steven Schumacher has called on the Green Army to stick by his promotion-chasing Plymouth Argyle players following the hugely disappointing 4-0 defeat by Bolton Wanderers in the Papa Johns Trophy final.
Schumacher accepted there would be criticism after such a poor performance from his side, who conceded two goals in the opening 10 minutes and gave their fans hardly anything to cheer about.
But, somehow, the Pilgrims have to try and bounce back from their Wembley nightmare, which was played out in front of a 39,000-strong Green Army, to continue their push for League One automatic promotion.
Argyle, second in the table on goal difference to Sheffield Wednesday, have eight games remaining, with the next two coming over Easter.
First up is a long away trip to relegation-threatened Morecambe on Good Friday followed by the visit of Lincoln City to Home Park on Easter Monday.
On the heavy defeat by Bolton, Schumacher said: "Obviously devastated with the outcome. I think congratulations is due to Bolton Wanderers, they were the better team and deserved to win the game.
"I also want to apologise to our fans, we didn't want it to go like that. After the start to the game we had, 10 minutes in and we were two-nil down from our own doing really.
"We gave the ball away in two poor areas and we got punished. Every mistake seemed to be punished by a really good Bolton Wanderers team. Once we go two-nil down it's going to be a tough day, and it was."
The only saving grace for Argyle at the interval was that they were not further behind, trailing 2-0 after goals scored by Kyle Dempsey and Dion Charles.
Schumacher said: "We said to the players at half-time that somehow we were still in the game. We weren't completely out of sight and we probably should have been.
"For us to get anything from the game we were going to have to look after the ball a bit better and stop giving it away in poor areas of the pitch.
"It looked like we had a bit of momentum at the start of the second half. We were on the front foot, we took a throw-in quickly and gave possession away, while we were spread wide open trying to pass out from the back.
"Kachunga runs right through the middle of us and scores, and from then on it's game over," added the Pilgrims' boss
Asked for a message for the Green Army, Schumacher said: "Thanks for your support, stick by the team. That's what good fans do, and our fans are the best. They understand we haven't gone out there today wanting to perform like that.
"Players don't do that, they want to try and do their best for everyone. We have made mistakes and got punished for it.
"Stick by them, support them. Obviously, there is going to be a few that criticise us and we are going to have to take that on the chin and own it.
"But then be there for us on Friday, if you can, at Morecambe, and definitely on Monday against Lincoln because they are going to help us get over the line hopefully."
Schumacher didnot see any reason why Argyle cannot go on and clinch promotion to the Championship despite their Wembley despair.
He said: "Every other time we have had a bad performance we have come back and reacted. There's eight games left and it's in our own hands. It's up to us to perform better than what we did today." village doesnt sound like he plans on getting them into training tomorrow or read the riot act. schuey's comments about the fans has annoyed me they turn up and support the team come rain or shine and will do so still its your players that dont do that and thats on you and your prep sort that out before you try passing the buck. |

Wait until one of them falls over and skins their knees, then there will be tears. Never mind standing up they will be running in the coridoors next. Utter madness. |

| Anyway who's going to the playoff finals? Lol 38,000? Doubt it. We really are on a pivotal point of the reign of Sigh here. We must be promoted via the autos, I think most fans would forgive us being bounced right down from the CCC but if we end up still in lge 1 with a complete rebuild we would be very lucky to be Anywhere near the top two again I fear. Lessons need to be learned, we need to build from the back And we need a defence like Bolton has, like all our rivals have. Before anyone plays the skint card, we ain't skint, we are far from skint and we need to spend more money than we are now or the five year plan will start from the start of next season with a lot less fans. |

Nope, he won't be getting them in early and reading the riot act then. I will be at Home Park on the Bank Holiday Monday cheering them on, hopefully after a win at Morecambe. It certainly is in their hands and like you say, Shuey and the backroom staff have got to lift the team for those two important games. Only my second away game for this season today, not a great fan of long distance travel these days. Should Argyle fall into Play-Offs and reach the final, I would not go to it. |

proper training may have been useful too. UIf they did data analytics as prep it clearly wasnt looked at cause we had no clue. Its my hope that Schuey or indeed another manager when the time comes learn the benefits of having a plan b to use when plan a doesnt work especially away from home. |

| Maybe they do care but have just completely forgotten how to play football. Good job we're not in a scrap at the other end of the table. |
