Coops in FIFA 22 Team of the Season

The awards just keep coming for Argyle goalkeeper Mike Cooper, who has been named in the EFL EA Sports FIFA 22 Team of the Season.

Having been crowned the club’s Player of the Year, winning the league’s Golden Glove and being included in the Sky Bet League One Team of the Season, it further underlines just how impressive Mike has been this year.

He played every minute of the Greens’ Sky Bet League One campaign, keeping 18 clean sheets and topping the ranks for saves in the division.

The 22-year-old went past the 100-appearance mark for Argyle this season, having started the last 92 consecutive league matches.

The EFL EA Sports FIFA 22 Team of the Season sees the best players from all three leagues - Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two – selected and Mike is the only goalkeeper to make the grade.

Mike is one of five players to be selected from the third tier, alongside Barry Bannan, Daniel Barlaser, Will Keane and Scott Twine.

The EFL Team of the Season in full is:

Mike Cooper – Plymouth Argyle

Kal Naismith – Luton Town

Jon Guthrie – Northampton Town

Djed Spence – Nottingham Forest

Nicky Cadden – Forest Green Rovers

Harry Wilson – Fulham

Andreas Weimann – Bristol City

John Swift – Reading

Barry Bannan – Sheffield Wednesday

Daniel Barlaser – Rotherham United

Will Keane – Wigan Athletic

Scott Twine – Milton Keynes Dons

Aleksander Mitrovic – Fulham

Dominic Solanke – AFC Bournemouth

Dom Telford – Newport County AFC

The Academy graduate signed a long-term contract in the summer of 2021, keeping him at Home Park until the end of the 2023/24 season.

If our strikers didn't keep as many clean sheets as Coops we would have gone up as champions. Wells done Coops those are some plaudits to have after two seasons in the FL.
