PostSubject: Re: Purrington   Purrington - Page 3 EmptyMon Jan 30, 2017 5:34 pm

I did some research last night on Rotherham and what a carry on over the last 8 years. Makes Argyle and Risdale small potatoes.
2 admins, a Heaneyesque Russian billionaire who never showed up. Owners buying the stadium and then selling the club to "fans" for one of your english pounds, and trying to charge big stadium rents . The new guy Stewart who may well have issues with the former owners says up yours and moves to sheffield for 3 years while he builds a brand new stadium for the club in Rotherham on a site shared with the council hq. The old stadium is used by a local u18 youth team. I could go on lol!

What a lovely industry. The mill owner is not yet a dying breed, or in this case scrap metal merchants. I kid you not.

Done deal apparently. £300,000 for Purrington. I hope Argyle have added some add-ons, just in case he gets sold to a Premier League team in a few years time ?.

All eyes will be on Carey now, let's hope no-one comes in with a bid before midnight tomorrow.

If he is not in the side to play Yeovil, then that could indicate that he is off too.

Has he actually gone?

All I've seen so far is speculation and rumour.

Apparently Purrington's been making it known he wants out, so if it's 300k that sounds like a good price for an average player whose out of contract in June, so thanks Ben off you go and we'll move on.

He's gone!! Apparently he asked for a move so 'taxi' for Purr. No point in keeping him. Wouldn't surprise me if he asked to go when he heard that Truro were interested but they pulled out and he had to go to save face and Rover'am were the only takers. Laughing

Shit contract shit wages who can blame the lad, did we even attempt to keep him by offering him a better deal Laughing I want us to be a club that strives to keep young, versatile, local players who look to have the ability to improve(imo). So yeah, we move on Graiser, the revolving door keeps spinning, fleeting identity with 'our' players becomes almost non existent, yet more new players need bedding in, the depressing nightmare continues.

Can it be a coincidence how you and Graiser always sing from the same hymn sheet? Flak deflectors foreshore.

Given that Argyle and Rotherham will quite possibly be playing in the same league next season, and that Purrington is from Devon originally, why has he decided to leave? I think the phrase 'three-and-a-half year contract' might give us a clue. Economic security has got to be a concern for lower league players.

I just don't understand a player preferring a 3 1/2 year contract rather than a one year one.......

Shit wages shit job security, took til he was 20 to get a decent run, too cultured a player for boot into touch Argyle. Can't imagine why anyone would want to leave.
Bradley and Carey at the end of the season, regardless of up or down.

Totally agree. Shit news, this. Exactly the type of player we should be doing our utmost to hang on to.

Most teams second in the league would keep their better players, and add quality to the squad.
Brent, though just wants his manager to go through other clubs dustbins looking for scraps, its pathetic really.

There it is. If any more proof were needed brent either doesn't care about or doesn't want promotion this season. Can't blame the player - keen to go to get away from brent's one year contracts and shit wages.

WHERE'S THE MONEY GONE BRENT?

We move on and go again, in DA we trust, fully backed in the transfer window, able to outspend Barnet and out muscle teams like Rotherham for length of contracts, all looking good at the Theatre of Greens, well done the board, moving up the gears nicely.
