Just seen the sad news on Twitter that Tyhee Slim has passed away.

you what ? didnt know he d been ill. sad news.

Very sad news, one of the most eloquent, thoughtful and intelligent posters on either site. His musings were always worth reading, and his analysis of the failure of ambition was spot on. One of the few pasoti posters whose contributions I always looked out for.

He'll be missed. Rest in Peace Neil.

Oh FFS. I used to really enjoy his 5000 word rants on P'bay. He came across as an intelligent and articulated chap who also had a vast knowledge and love for music. He seemed to be around for years.

Indeed. Named Neil, after Neil Dougall apparently, who was his godfather.

I like to think I knew Neil quite well and as it happened we were ill at the same time and we used to keep up to date usually on facebook as to how many pills we were taking.
He was a great guy and usually his ramblings were spot on although some times a bit long winded but always a good read. He never posted much on here in the last 12 months and it is gutting to see that he lost his battle.
RIP Neil you will be missed and so sorry I never had the chance to say goodbye personally.

Terrible news - I had a message earlier and have spent the last couple of hours thinking about how much we've lost. I had the great pleasure of knowing Neil in real life, and he was one of the best, just as articulate and funny as he was on the net, and a great musician to boot. It's tragic that the cancer struck just as he'd finally got to pursue his dream of going to university; he'd always thought it wasn't for "the likes of" him (a phrase he often used), but was persuaded to give it a go and was loving it. I think he completed his first year.

Even while he was fighting the cancer, he was still making us all laugh, and still had time to think of others: I won't forget the lovely message he sent me when my Mum died.

Rest in peace, fella, and love to Jane, Richard and the rest of the family xx

Terrible news. When we played Mansfield (away) last November I remember him saying that he wouldn't make the game due to health reasons. Awful that he's lost his battle.

Newell used to get taken apart over on the Farm when he decided to pick a fight with Slim. It was always a joy to read.

Truly one of the good guys. R.I.P.

Was always a privilege to catch up with Neil at assorted GNS.
