Striker to miss two games after 10th yellow

Oxford United top scorer Danny Hylton faces a frustrating ten days as he serves a two-game ban.

Hylton collected his tenth yellow of the season during Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bury and must now sit out the two home games against Plymouth on Saturday and Hartlepool next Tuesday evening

We welcome Promotion chasing Plymouth (latest odds: 5/1) to the Kas'tard Stadium.
Our beloved Oxford Utd., according to SkyBet, is a sure-fire 200/1 to gain promotion.

In terms of winning the game, Oxford are currently 11/8 and Plymouth are 9/5, making Oxford the short favourites. Makes for interesting reading?

According to Oxford fans on Yellow Forum, Oxford are given away around 2,000 tickets each home game's.

Mate at work who runs a kids footie team said he can get free tickets for the rest of the season so expect between 1000 and 2000 extra on every home match til the end of season

Theres up to 2,000 free tickets for local football boys teams every game. So they always get counted. I was surprised at how many of them tickets were taken up for the Morecambe game, considering it was midweek.
Some people have been moaning about the free tickets, I prefer it. I'm fed up of seeing 7,000 empty seats every game. The North Stand looks so much better with a 1,000 more oxford fans in it.

I've heard that the development players are also offered a large number of tickets as well.

Well done, Oxford!

Every empty seat is an opportunity waiting to be monetised in some way. 2000 kids is a lot of cans of drink and bags of crisps in the short term, a lot of team shirts sold in the mid-term and hundreds of potential lifelong supporters in the longer term.

People make branding and marketing appear to be some sort of mystical science akin to alchemy when, in fact, it really is very simple: just get bums on seats.

Oxford's build up to the game

Quote

Football - Appleton unlikely to ring changes

Oxford manager Michael Appleton is once again likely to keep changes to a minimum for the visit of Plymouth.

A four-game unbeaten run has lifted the U's away from relegation trouble and leaves Appleton in a confident mood.

Danny Hylton is one man who will miss out, though, after he was booked for the 10th time this season which means he will serve a two-match suspension.

Armand Gnanduillet could replace the 15-goal striker, although the manager also revealed James Roberts could come in. Will Hoskins is unlikely to return just yet after a planned development game was scrapped so the squad could visit Cheltenham races.

Olly Lee will return to the Plymouth squad after serving a suspension.

The on-loan midfielder was sent off three weeks ago and is expected to return after sitting out three games.

Reuben Reid made his return from injury in the win over Northampton and is likely to continue to partner the in-form Lewis Alessandra in attack.

Dominic Blizzard has recovered from an eye wound but should remain on the bench, while Matt Lecointe played for the development squad during the week after a long-term knee injury.

I was dreading it but have had a frankly atrocious week from every single angle that I look at it, so it'll be nice to get away for the day I think.

Can't wait now!
