I don't think Dan could care less one way or the other. He was bequeathed the island and it has been more of a irritation than anything.
I still believe the Navy dominate what goes down in that river mouth, even though it is constantly denied. It's a strange place, and just what can you do with such a thing with all the twaffic in and out of the yard. Would make a family home I suppose if you had a sturdy rowing boat. Probably need a CRB check

Seems PCC are shit scared that if they approve planning they'll leave themselves open to a legal challenge from Natural England. Heaven forbid they grow some balls and meet that challenge.

Czarky, it's all about the Navy, always has been. The birds are just a handy public excuse. Green matters are often used these days as cover for other agendas.... the perfect ruse, get your own way and blame the enemy.  A bit like "charging VAT" on previously zero rated electricity and calling it a green tax. What a joke.
Mind you, with vexatious litigants like Brent hovering around, maybe PCC have good reason to tread carefully. They are charged with spending public money.
