Should Argyle offer special price for the last home game?

Attracting more supporters for the end of season games

Bury v Southend: Shakers offer fans free entry to rearranged game

The Shakers had asked fans who had been at that game to collect a voucher for the rearranged game, but have now opened it up to all supporters.

It's a hard one for the club - whenever they put an offer on a few season-ticket holders moan about it diluting the worth of their membership. Makes sense to me though - an empty seat makes no money does it? Surely if we let a few POTD people in for half price they'll be more likely to buy a pie and a programme.

Just out of interest, how many people pay on the gate at every home game? It can't be more than a couple of thousand.

The club have done these sort of offers before and they havent been the over whelming successes they had hoped.

Besides, Im willing to state that the home game of our playoff games if we indeed reach it will attract far more in terms of fans going and additional funds than an offer to go watch argyle play Tranmere on the cheap would bring in.

You can predict what will happen if we reach the play offs.

1. We will get a capacity crowd
2. The "small standers" will say that this is precisely why they wanted a bigger structure
3. The apologists will say that if the janner nation weren't so fickle and turned out like this all the time then we wouldn't be in this position and that it is their fault.
4. The Argyle super fan will moan about plastics
5. The "plastic" will be met by ticketing chaos, massive queues to get in, pasties sold out by 7.30pm and a 2 nil defeat.
6. Said plastic will remind himself why he doesn't turn out normally
7. All Argyle fans will moan about typical bleddy Argyle never turning up when there's a big crowd.

Then......normality will resume.

there is truth in what you say however i think the plastics will bump up the average 6000 by almost double especially if its a 2nd leg fixture and argyle won the first.

All if and but atm i know.

ps janner nation are the coppers and mp's who covered up for him we be they jannar nation cheers cheers cheers

I believe that it is mathematically impossible to play the second leg at home. You need to finish 4th or 5th. If we qualify it will be a home game in the 1st leg to one of Wycombe, Bury or Southend on either the evening of Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th May.

The second leg will be 7.45pm on the 14th.

I have arranged my work schedule to cover all three accordingly. Very Happy :greenrave: sunny jocolor drunken

Although edited to add I may need the assistance of a season ticket holding ATD'er who doesn't intend to travel to the away game to get me a ticket. Anyone who is willing please PM me. Love

One think they could do, who every goes to the last game would be guaranteed to have a ticket for a the home play off game and the final (if we gets that far) We should know on Saturday if we have any hope.

Fight To The Finish - Coach Travel Reduced To Just £10 For Plymouth
Posted: Tue 21 Apr 2015

Coach prices reduced for the trip to Plymouth
Official Club coach travel for Saturday's away game at Plymouth Argyle has been reduced to just £10 per person.

The Club and Tranmere Rovers Trust are subsidising the trip for supporters, with up to five coaches travelling to Home Park at discount price.

Chairman Mark Palios said: "Our fans have been turned out in numbers on the road this season and we're grateful for the fantastic backing they've given the team.

"We hope to see another good turnout at Plymouth on Saturday for what is another huge match for the Club.

"We thank Tranmere Rovers Trust for their help with subsidising the coaches, it's another example of the closer working relationship the Trust has with the Club and how we can work together for the benefit of the fans."

Their last two home game are £10

In years gone by this offer by itself would have put the box office under enormous strain with early morning queues just waiting for the box office to open.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I just rang the ticket office to get some Shrewsbury tickets and was straight to number 1 in the queue.

It's a potential promotion season in which no-one is particularly interested.

Do Argyle read our threads?.

A VICTORY for Argyle in Saturday's huge home fixture against Tranmere Rovers would go a long way to booking the Pilgrims' spot in the Sky Bet League 2 play-offs and if you are there to see it, you could stand a better chance of grabbing your seat for an eventual Home Park play-off semi-final.

Should we make it the right side of the dotted line come the end of the season, we are likely to play a home leg of the play-offs first, at Home Park, on the evening of Saturday, May 9 or Sunday, May 10.

As soon as a play-off game is confirmed, we will release ticket details for the fixture, which will see Argyle Members given first priority on booking their seats. After a short exclusivity period for Members, those with Tranmere ticket stubs will be offered the chance to book their tickets, before a general sale to all supporters

Just did the same. Again, 1st in the queue, pure luck or tumbleweed in the ticket office? Shocked

It is indeed the oddest of odd promotion* seasons, doesn't have any form of 'buzz' about it at all.

*if we make it, which in itself hits the nail on the head.....no-one truly believes we'll make it.
