I was looking for something that would act as a thread lock for a bloody infuriating bolt that continues to vibrate loose on me bike after shop brands had failed to work, the answer was to wrap a little nylon fishing line around the bolt first!

There's my tip!

Wrap some potatoes in tin foil and put them in a cupboard. They'll be a welcome consolation should your house ever burn to the ground.

Horse hair + a green 'gunk' does the same thing. Here, use horse hair + green gunk instead of PTFE tape on plumbing stuff, lasts loads longer. Why buy nylock stuff.

Old telephone books make ideal address books.
Simply cross out all of the names of people you don't know.

You buy the horse hair from the builders merchant. If I could afford a horse I'd keep it in the freezer. Smile

Oh hippo you've spoilt it now.....I had visions of everyone having their own personal horse grazing in their garden....just to be there for that moment when you needed a leak free joint.

Bonus's would be.....no grass cutting needed and a free supply of manure for you borders.....in fact the idea is starting to sound very practical.

PS.......of course you would have to train your horse not to trample on the borders or eat the flowers.

PPS.......you could also set up a surplus manure sale....selling black sacks of manure at the front gate with an honesty box for payments.

If you need to push a cable up a duct put a good blob of grease on the duct entrance.
