Surely a nation which population is made up from a mix of grey post-Soviet gulag workers, lazy feta cheese eating wops and won't cause our sturdy yeoman from the shires any problems tonight?

Just listening to their national anthem,sounds like a 1980's Old spice advert.Never seen England play live,wouldn't surprise me if MonteAfrocaribbean give England a game,though.

Got this game on the magic picture box but not really watching it. Anyway I'm looking forward to the rugby tomorrow with far greater interest. My 50th post by the way, so I'll raise my bat and that'll be the 3rd sport I've mentioned. Call yourself a football forum pah!

The problem with Wayne Rooney:

- poorly schooled. I don't expect all of my English sporting heroes to go to a proper school like Strauss (Radley) or the Hask (Wellington), but did he even go to school?
- from a Council Estate. You don't develop sound character stealing hubcaps quite like one develops character from the beastings of a 5th form brute at private school!
- Irish roots. Genetically weak and prone to impulsive and irrational behaviour. Cannot tan.

Rains a lot there doesn't it, did so all the time we were there on holiday last year. Couldn't spoil the bay of Kotor, boootiful.

Disappointed they qualified. I can tell you the tournament result for England. Another summer of unjustified hype will be followed by a fortnight of abject failure and an autumn of abuse by the very industry that unjustifiably built them up in the first place.

Cheerio Capello will be printed on a back page before mid July.

A lot of money will be made by corporate advertising and promotion. Rooney's face will be on Mars bars again and Carlsberg will release a tub thumping advert chock full of cliche and stereotype........remember "do it for Bobby" .

England firms will 'hay-make' in the sunshine having dined out on the cheep beer and willingness of the locals firms to reciprocate.

There'll be headlines of national disgrace and the owners of German cars will once again have to hide them away when we play the Germans lest they be scratched or kicked in.
