The Ghoul was parading round the pitch with the fans-reunited banner tonight, that whole event was an embarrassing failure tonight, i think even the Pompey fans were cringing at it.

Sorry but that is so untrue . The Pompey fans loved it and applauded it loudly . Why such a misrepresentation of what happened ? I await one of your "robust " replies .

The fan fest was a non-starter for one, apparently the Pompey fans turned up in force only to be let down by our own tent dwellers according to someone over on Pasoti who then had a dig at the trust for the same reason.
You say the Pompey fans applauded it loudly ...loudly according to who? ...you!....cos where i was sat (the Lyndhurst) there was distinctly scattered applause and in the main barely audible from pompeys fans, where were the buckets Webb was banging on about beforehand? i never seen any and even if there was any buckets i doubt they would have collected much. The whole thing was put on a pedestal by James Brents very own spin doctor Chris Webb and in the end he was made to look a little bit silly by its failure.
Bum licking nonsense at the end of the day

Punch, with the bad calls CW has made lately I don't think you can call him a spin doctor. More like a spin quack! Smile

800 quid collected in the buckets !

Which buckets though? Because originally I saw that the buckets were collecting for Pompey, but when that was blasted on Pasoti it changed to money collected at the home end was going towards the staff debt and the money collected at the away end was going to the Pompey fund.
Fair point Jock, yes I remember that too now, so my answer is I have no idea, just a grand total from the buckets of 800.20p according to Sue Pollard.
If your buckets were used to collect money for one thing but the monry collected went elsewhere I am sure this would classified as theft, unless all those who contributed initially were informed of the any change and agreed to it.

So who received the money in the end?

I must say though thats its inevitable that anyone who puts their head above the parapet at Argyle will inevitably get vociferous criticism from a section of the fanbase . Twas always thus .
I know where you are coming from Greengenes but gradually it is evolving into more football discussion as membersahipo increases. Freathy is harmless you know, it's just his style you can take it with a pinch of salt, there was no need at all for Pasoti to ban him just for having diverse opinions to others, a lot of it is tongue in cheek and that is obvious. The problem on the other site is anyone can agree with everything but as soon as some disagrees with everything they are banned leaving an unrepresentative cross section of views. The site has become more and more an auction site and unofficial mouthpiece for the club and as soon as there is any dissent as in the recent Tom Daley thread which El Pres hijacked for personal publicity the thread is conveniently moved to a lower profile forum. There was a genuine situation that arose with Pilgrim Pete, El Pres and Nool last week in which it would appear PP was treated pretty appalingly but as soon as a post was made asking about it it was deleted as big brother's protection of the miscreants once more came to the fore. It is this sort of thing that pees people off and has driven so many over here where they can voice their opinion freely. It is no wonder some have a chip on their shoulder. As you say Greengenes those who put their head over the parapet will inevitably have criticism from some as well as praise of course from others. The one who craves publicity the most however cannot handle the criticism, only the wow Chris, right on Chris, well done Chris type of comments.

I largely agree with these sentiments but would add that in my opinion, the focus on ATD is often not on the football because until the reasons it is so poor and futureless are addressed, there is little point.
We now have a bloated squad, largely composed of a few tired old pros and those who never will be good enough. If that wasn't bad enough we have self promoting but basic personalities, either in positions of influence or trying to be.These people will attempt to sideline and silence all opposing views anyway they can and they appear to have the support of Brent.
The bigger picture at Home Park is far more important right now than the predictably dour football on offer. Some of us saw this coming years ago but even we didn't believe that the lunatics would end up running the asylum.

You love to berate anyone or anything that is Argyle yet you do not attend, offer no constructive advice and are largely (along with one or two others) why this site is stuck on 350 or so members with only about 20 regular contributors.

GG is spot on. this site is more to do with personalities than PAFC. You spout your absolute shit at every opportunity, yet offer nothing constructive to this site. I can see why Ian used to post up a broken record every time you posted on Pasoti.

Try re viewing a few threads, over the years................. and stop hiding, it's so Pasoti and so village. jocolor

The two aren't mutually exclusive!

He does come across as a self seeking opportunist, interested only in his own self promotion, using other people's success/achievements to further his own profile.

What on earth are you talking about? You continue the petty squabble between you and Richard Woodward & Chris Webb at every opportunity. It's like an internet OCD.

S'cuse me?

Would someone care to explain why I am being dragged into something I know nothing about? Why am I being called amoral?

That is surely forum abuse, I haven't posted or done anything wrong - have I?

Your opinion has been noted Groucho.

'Taxi'

A number of episodes involve a character having an opportunity to realize his or her dream to move up in the world, only to see it yanked away. Otherwise, the cabbies deal on a daily basis with their unsatisfying lives and with Louie DePalma, their amoral dispatcher.

Apology accepted.

You probably aren't wrong. I just can't help myself where certain people and behaviours are concerned. And yes, life is too short.

ps Taxi for Louie !

So, to sum up. Those who went thought it was an okay performance that will lift the team for Saturday. Those that didn't thought it was crap.

Genius!
