I hope he won't mind me posting this, but Knecht was due to be on duty in one of the Trust Booths today; we got a bit concerned when he didn't turn up, as he's normally such a reliable chap. Anyway I had a message from him - he was admitted to hospital early on Thursday and had only just been discharged. He's not been diagnosed as yet, and is awaiting the results of various tests.

Anyway, the point of this post is to wish him well, and hope that the eventual diagnosis is not too serious. Hopefully he'll be back in the Lyndhurst before too long, fighting fit again!

Get well soon mate.

Jest aside, hope you're on the mend asap.

Thanks for that - much appreciated. The reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.

Taken ill late on Thursday night and into Derriford in the early hours of Friday. Absolute hell for a few hours. God bless Sister Morphine. I'm being treated for gastritis until tests can confirm or eliminate gallstones.

I'm fine but knackered. Slept most of the afternoon but woke in time to hear that the mighty Greens continued their march up the league.

Glad to hear you're back home at least, Knecht.

If it is gallstones, you'll be well looked after. About eighteen months ago, my phone rang and I could hardly recognise my mother's voice. Rushing over there, I found her more ill than I'd ever seen; while waiting for the doctor to come, and while sitting in A&E at Derriford, I started to brace myself that this could be it (she was nearly 86 at the time). Anyway, it turned out to be gallstones: they carried out a procedure which she recovered from within a couple of days, and she's been fine ever since.

In the meantime, take it easy, look after yourself and read a good book flower

I had gallstones a few years ago, (it felt like being knifed in the stomach) so I know how you feel. I went on a zero alcohol, fat free diet for a month and they cleared up. Get well soon buddy.

Its likely we all have them in us .The problems arise when they decide to move . I was horrified when my wife had her attack as she was in incredible pain .

Gallstones for me as well, had the old keyhole surgery to take out me gall bladder about 8 years ago.Not something you want twice, put it that way,i've never been in so much pain and honestly didn't know where to put myself when the attacks started.I had to cut out all fats from my food in between diagnosis and operation but the op itself was quick-in Derriford at 1700 hrs,out by 0900 next morning.

Good luck and a speedy recovery,Knecht.

As others have said gallstones are painfull. They caused me the worst pain I've ever experienced. I had several attacks before being diagnosed but I had no problems once the gall bladder was removed. I hope you're sorted soon whatever the result of the tests are.
