Port Vale are to reward fans who attend their next three away games by increasing their chance of getting tickets for the final match of the regular season, at Plymouth.

Vale have warned they may only get around 1,500 tickets for that game, on Saturday April 25. That’s unlikely to meet demand if the Vale need a result to secure a place in the play-offs.

So, the club is introducing a three-tiered priority system.

Fans who have both a season ticket, either for this campaign or 2020/21, plus tickets for the next three away games at Oldham, Cambridge and Carlisle, will get first priority.

The second priority will be given to season ticket holders, for this season or next.

The third priority is for non season-ticket holders who attend the next three away games.  Any remaining tickets will then go on general sale.

Vale say: ”Having reviewed the tickets we have been allocated by the clubs for our remaining away matches this season, there is a concern that we may not be able to satisfy the demand for travelling Valiants for the final match against Plymouth Argyle FC on April 25.

“Whilst we are confident we will be able to address such situations next season when the new ticketing system is installed, and the membership scheme operational, it is not the case for this particular match.

Port Vale will be away to Plymouth in the final game of the regular season

“We have considered both Premier League and Championship ticketing procedures and taken on board your feedback in response to away ticketing allocation earlier in the season where demand has been high. The consensus appears to be that season ticket holders (current and next season) should take priority, but as there may not be enough tickets for all ST holders the normal “first come, first served” approach would not offer fairness to fans who regularly travel to away games.

“Our current ticketing system has limited technica l capabilities and can not supply the accurate information we would need to implement an automatic loyalty based system.

“Therefore we have agreed that the tickets, purely for the match against Plymouth on 25th April will be allocated on a tiered system as follows:

1) Season Ticket holders (current + next season) + final 3 away games (Oldham, Carlisle & Cambridge).

2) Season Tickets (current + next season)

3) Non-season ticket holders who have travelled to final 3 away games.

4) General sale

Tickets will be limited to one-per-person and are subject to availability.

Plymouth Argyle: 25/04/20 (1st tier on sale 14th April).
