Ryan Lowe is working through a lengthy list of potential signings in his search for a new Plymouth Argyle striker.

Lowe wants to bring in a proven goalscorer and he has been linked with Yeovil Town's 17-goal top scorer Rhys Murphy.

You're all on the wrong track!

New signing is currently at a Club in the North West and has played for at least 6 teams in the bottom league/conference, went to the same school as Steven Gerrard, and used to play along side RL.

"I know him, he's a great lad" Lowe will say when the signing is announced.

He was heavily linked a while back but seems it’s gone a bit quiet on him at the moment though

I’d take anyone at the moment who could put ball in net just getting a bit fed up with this pass it to death and no end product at the end of it lose the ball then get it back and it starts all over again & again it’s getting a bit monotonous

He was heavily linked a while back but seems it’s gone a bit quiet on him at the moment though

Ive seen him play half a dozen times and he always scores and plays well, including against argo back in the summer friendly.

So possibly signing a striker from Torquay or Yeovil, hmm!

realistically what club in league two or indeed league one is going to sell a goalscorer this month? Hallett wont part with silly money which would be the only way they would. Reid or Murphy in the lower league are more realistic options and wont cost the earth. Lowe just has to do his homework on both to make sure he gets the right one.

I'm wondering what RL makes of the January window, for or against? The dour Scot made it very clear over the last couple of windows that he thought it should be scrapped. Agree, good luck to RL on finding a regular goalscorer over the next week or so.

Swindon supporters are fooking hilarious....They genuinely think they are a massive club.

This is based on them winning the league cup 50 years ago and being in the premier league 25 years ago, wheh they went straight down after losing 5-0 every week.

No chance hallet is going to cough up money to sign him although i wish he would that could be a big signal of intent especially next season.

We won't go up until we do show some real intent.

Get the right striker in and promotion is there for the taking in this shit league, but argo will probably go down the year on year progress route and sign some cheap donkey.

If (and it's a massive IF) we do bring a striker in it will be a young, inexperienced, and most importantly non-scoring loanee from a Championship/League One side who Lowe will never play anyway.  Hallett doesn't spend money on players, particularly in January.

Doyle has already played for Bradford and Swindon this season, so cannot go anywhere else
