A lot of very good points there, Gull.

Further, could see a relegation next time out on the back of more of the same budget and Adams taking his opportunity to fly.

@Bees, also think Taylor will be out Tuesday....not because he is nursing anything but because he’s crocked. Seems, as you say though, that Adams has some unrealistic expectations around injuries (see Threlkeld).

With miracle worker Adams very likely gone to a proper club in the summer the new manager will have to learn very quickly how to completely build a team from scratch out of cheap rejects and drill them into a unit that won't get mullered every week otherwise we're looking at a very swift return to the basement in 19/20

BRENT OUT NOW

This "promotion push" was never planned, supported or invested in by Brent and his cronies or by a large prercentage of the diehard fanbase. At the start of the season it was all about the 'C' word - consolidation.
It was pushed by the board about consolidating in L1 and having stability, the daily rag pushed the whole idea of just staying in L1, fans were talking about "just staying in the league".
Whereas a few of us who weren't held back by the 'punching above are weight' delusion could see on the back of a play off final, then automatic promotion that with ambition from the board and belief from the fans and financial INVESTMENT in the playing squad Argo could have definitely had a real chance of automatic promotion again this season.
So if we don't make it into the playoffs (unlikely) then people shouldn't be too disappointed because it was never planned for or believed in, in the first place.
But hey ho, if Argo are still in L1 just weight for the blame on Adams and the players from the braindeads.
This season will have been a massive opportunity lost if Argo don't go up.

Surprised Throbber isn’t basking in self-glory after having announced that Northampton would be a banana skin game.

I notice he has started using ‘Throbber’ himself as a descriptor, probably in a vain attempt to desensitise the word like black people do (more successfully) with the n-bomb.

He thinks he’s very clever but really utterly transparent. The definition of a legend in his own (virtual) lunchtime.

Looking like a no now, innit. I would have been happy with 8th back in August, and would have bitten your hand off in December, but it will feel like a missed opportunity now.
