York have just signed young Newcastle defender on loan, so should be out of running, unless they have bigger budget than us.

What is the difference between cover and backup?

If Forster makes it here by Saturday will he make the starting XI or not?

If not I don't think Stubbs will be keen to let his 'highly rated' young CB move to Plymouth to sit on the bench for 4th tier football.

are you deliberately twisting words for bites?

i just said we need more cover, options and quality in defence what part of that is translating wrong for you? Its something we need whether this guy joins or not as we are low in numbers in defence.

Even if Jordon Forster decides to reject Hibs contract offer and go elsewhere, Hibs will be entitled to a development fee.

More than likely we only seem to sign cover when somebody breaks a leg and then it's a couple of weeks after the event.

Maybe SFD was right!!

Nelson off in the summer, this Scottish lad his replacement?

Coming to plymouth to be cover just doesn't make any sense - not for a 'highly rated' 22 year old that Hibs are already demanding compensation for.

Hibs’ Jordon Forster completes Plymouth loan move

Hibs defender Jordon Forster today completed a loan move to English League Two side Plymouth Argyle and could be pitched into an immediate debut in tonight’s top-of-the-table clash with second-placed Northampton Town.

Former Hibs assistant manager Derek Adams, now boss at Home Park, had been keen to sign the 22-year-old but an injury to Easter Road skipper David Gray delayed the move.

With Gray ruled out of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Raith Rovers, Forster was on the bench as cover at Stark’s Park but travelled south the following day.

And Forster, who has been offered an extended contract by the Capital club, has now signed for Plymouth until the end of the season.

And, if the necessary red tape can be cleared in time, Adams could be tempted to thrust him into action straight away.

If he can stay injury free could be a good/ great signing. Hibs fans certainly rate him and they suggest that due to his height, he is a danger from set plays.

Adams' might know him from his spell as Assistant Manager at Hibs? but so far Adams' signings from the Scottish leagues have been very good.

Seems a reasonable enough signing on paper.

Let's just hope that if Nelson is off (and SFD usually has good info) it's in the summer and not in January so it doesn't affect our promotion challenge.

Won't we be due one if Nelson leaves?

Hibs would be due a small fee (as we would for Nelson) but ONLY if they offered him a new deal on equal or equivalent terms. If they chose to let him go or offered him a lower paid deal, we would owe them nothing.

Who knows if the fee he would command if Hibs chose to offer him a deal would be out of our price range or not (though we did pay such a fee in the past when Cowan-Hall was out of contract) but if Hibs are looking to get rid of him, we probably wouldn't need to pay them in the first instance.

Hibs have offered him a two year contract extension.

They will definitely be expecting their cut if he wants to move elsewhere, which he evidently does.

The last time we signed a young underused defender with such positive comments from fans, we picked up Carl McHugh on a free. Bodes well.

Tbf it may not be cover, it may be that DA thinks the lad can play at lge 1 or maybe CCC level but we have other defenders who cant, could be looking to get rid of deadwood in the summer.

Ah I missed that. If the extension they've offered JF is on equal or better terms, we will owe them a small fee if we wish to sign him then.
