Hoping for an Argyle victory on Tuesday. It would be great if Stevenage, Newport and  Exeter lose, with Luton drawing. That would give Argyle a good gap between themselves and the teams below them.

I can't see Northampton sneaking in.

Didn't really get that impression TBH-Mansfield had their share of the ball and did put a bit of pressure on at times but I can only remember Luke having a couple of saves to make and there weren't too many other scares. Not a great performance by any means but Argyle just about edged it IMHO, a hard fought, grafting win which is all that counts at this stage of the season. A tale of two set pieces for Argyle's goals, both provided by Bobby Reid, who generally had a much better game today. The first was converted with a towering header from some distance by O'Connor at the far post, the second from a much maligned floated near post corner which was flicked on for McHugh to convert. Argyle then contrived to let Mansfield straight back into the game with a conversion from a rebound off the bar and it was rather a long last 20 odd minutes, not helped by 6 minutes of injury time after a head injury to one of their players. In fact everything was late today-my watch said five past three when the match finally started and half time seemed to be extended as well, not sure if the ref had his watch set correctly.

Good win in the end but there are some areas of concern-McHugh went off injured for a start and to my eyes Argyle just don't look as solid without that McHugh/Nelson/Hartley combination with O'Connor sat in front-nothing against Blizzard who got through a lot of work today but I hope everyone is fit for Tuesday.The performance of Olly Lee left something to be desired today, maybe food for thought for that position as well. Lewis was much better today but Rooben just doesn't look to be fit at the moment, exemplified when he was beaten for pace by their rather ponderous centre back to a 50/50 ball in the second half-looks as if he could do with some time off but at this stage of the season? Tough decision to be made there. Finally, I don't often criticise Argyle fans and the majority were pretty good today but there seems to be an element whose afternoon consists of mouthing mindless inanities at Sheridan and some of the players, which frankly is counter productive at this stage of the season. Whatever you think about the man, the fact is that Argyle still have a chance of doing something this season and the football isn't going to be pretty, just as it wasn't at times when Warnock and Sturrock got Argyle promoted from this league.

Yep at 10 to 3 winging about numbers and how with a potential promotion run in he would have expected more support. Questioned the city's attitude.

Seen us play worse this season, but feck it - 3 points will do. Had a cracking day regardless of the less than dazzling footy on display. It wasn't all bad though, we glimpsed some decent stuff - some players were well on their game today, the back three, Bobby Reid, Blizzard and Lewi, and the others were a tad off the boil. Olly Lee was alright, but a little sloppy and unalert at time. Mellor got plenty of stick around me, and yes he was a bit shit, but at least he had the intent to get forward and either get in the box himself or play the ball in there. He's clumsy for sure, but any less so than Jones? As a wingback he sets positions himself well and has the right attitude to the role, but his conviction is slack. Holmes-Dennis doesn't expose himself like Mellor does, he too often shies away from trying to take on his man or play an inventive ball forward, too often in the first half he'd just turn around play it back to Hartley and let our fill in captain hoof it one. Tarieq did get involved better in the second half however, and our brightest moments involved him. He's a quality player, but he needs to play with greater attacking intent. Reuben was a bit shit today and just couldn't get involved at all. So yeah, the potential for a really good performance was there but a few of the players disappointed the others and overall the display stalled and suffered - we got the result though, so that'll do for me today.

Well said Alan. Against my better judgement I went to the Burton game, first game since brent got his paws on the club.
Fecking abysmal value for £23. Half the team are not worthy of being called professionals, Burton were no better.
Can't blame anyone for keeping the money in their pockets.
