Its All Your Fault Empty
PostSubject: Its All Your Fault   Its All Your Fault EmptyFri Mar 15, 2013 8:20 pm

I was brought up in a time when mums bought kids clothes from Kays or Freeman Catalogues, (teenage boys poured over the bra pages..no xhamster) 3 channels on a TV you had to get up to turn over, replica shirts were just the same colour and you had to stitch the number on the back, but at least some things were bred into you....born in Exeter, schooled in Exeter, you were bred to hate Plymouth and despise all Argyle fans. The colour green was a huge no no (still is). Meeting an Argyle lad, say at a Punk gig in the late 70s, would inevitably lead to a fight...it had to. We were never above you and the thought of your lot getting relegated to non league football was just another wet schoolboy fantasy.

So here we are, you look in trouble, yet Torquay look more troubled and we could sneak up again. It should be a time of joy, celebration, hurtful (hateful) banter for a City fan ("Exeter City Devon" tattooed on the top of his left arm...however I am torn and its all your fault. I know the likes of tcm and a couple others on here will not understand it, the truth is nor do I, but I am not sure I want you to go down. Lose a game, lose a few games but get the points you need to finish 3rd from bottom.

This is a decent forum with real football fans, good people, bloody articulate, intelligent and sometimes witty Argyle fans (never thought I would see the day) who are as passionate as I am for my team of world beaters, who just want a Club to be proud to support again. You have 9 games and then can put the season to bed and look forward to next season, trying to once again dream of playing City.

Get yourself safe before March 30th, then I can revert back to type and seriously enjoy the thrashing we are going to give you at Home Park.

Only one.

The thing is I was at Villa Park with 2 mates, travelled up on the train and loved the Watford win (my dad knew Johnny Hore and got 3 free tickets), I used to play in goal for a decent local Exeter team with Buster Phillips dad and Buster at 8 or 9 would give me a warm up before the watch by knocking a few ball in, I have worked alot in Plymouth, some of my friends are Argyle, I know some of your original firm....my hatred has gone...probably exorcised by this site.

Just realised its also the Ides of March so still time to be stabbed in the back

I wouldn't mind a tug on whatever he has been smoking, me, I just love the idea of El Porko and the Green Platoon bowling up to Alfreton, Braintree, Gateshead, Hyde and especially the 370 miles to Barrow if they stay up.

Happy days.

On that theme I was watching the end of the FGR vs Mansfield game earlier and there was a monster collision between two players going for the ball, if it had happened in the Prem or Chumpnioship the aftermath might have necessitated open heart surgery, these two lads helped each other up and got on with the game, real football and we shall most definitely meet again, it just might be some time if you do slip through the trap door, it ain't no picnic down there, check out Luton who will not even make the play offs this season despite being a far bigger club than PAFC.

The bits of paper lying around here attest to a first class honours double in Maths and History with a back up Masters in Applied Statistics, of course in them days an A level was about as hard to get as some 2/1 in English but no reason to knock the efforts of today's young'uns even though statistically speaking I rather doubt that 50% of students should really be at university in the first place, I believe it was as low as 11% in the 1970s.

Not sure young Hairy is going to progress too far in the Maccy D empire if he is going to persevere with calling them chips.

I'm well aware of how long it could be , dear boy. It was merely an attempt at mimicking our esteemed auctioneer and superfan.

Historically, Luton have achieved far more but I wouldn't say they are a bigger club. Their first season back in the Championship 2005/6 only attracted average gates of just over 9k, compared to Argyle, a season before, at just under 17k. Admittedly, I don't think they can get many more into Kenilworth Rd.

Exactly, Kenny Road holds around 10k and quite a bit less when fans are segregated, they have Seasons at the top level and a major trophy as well as selling 52,000 tickets to a Mickey Mouse event at Wemberlee, a proper sleeping giant who if they could get a new ground organised would dwarf your goodselves.

I think you'll find it is Exeter University. My degree in Russian History and Politics came from another learning establishment of note and accept the minor literary error is purely the result of my typing speed. Two Steps Forward One Step Back mate.

They are only 40 mins to Wembley and having lived alongside the Luton/Watford rivalry for 25 yrs, I still maintain the muff is potentially bigger than both.

52,000 for a Mickey Mouse Cup game, 40 minutes don't enter into it.

Sometimes Tringy your grasp of reality worries me, Watford and Luton have both played at the highest level, you Gargs have never been even remotely close to that, it can't be helped, you are at the arse end of nowhere and are stuck in terminal decline as a City, whatever you might like to wistfully believe was a possibility back in the day ain't worth a bucket of spit today.

Thinking on Brent must have one hell of a cheeky deal with PCC to encourage him to spend so much money on a project which is so obviously doomed to failure, same old game I suppose, privatised profits followed by socialised losses.

I admit the failure to back Holloway was the latest in a line of missed opportunities and what has followed has been nothing short of a disaster at every level, making any repeat of such an opportunity being a long way off, neither Luton or Watford with their relative past achievements are potentially bigger than England's 13th largest city club.
I realise you eternal minnows hate the fact we've almost always doubled your attendance figures. You get 5k , we get 10k. Years back, you get 10k , we get 20k and historically, despite no top flight exposure our fanbase has always been at least on a par with Luton and Warford.
I am a realist though Tis. We are up shit creek now with Brent and his dimwits and when you combine that with Plymouth's general demise compared with Exeter on other fronts, the future is indeed grim.

Plans for a new grandstand, paying your bills on time, four years of torpor while you pay back a quarter of what you owed, Shit Creekish certainly but the paddle is in the canoe and all you need is for someone worth more than two bob to pick it up and start paddling.
