Timing is everything isn't it.

Anyway if your not one of his hand selected followers you shouldn't be quoting his tweets. He really doesn't like it.

That's just made me even angrier than I already was. And I didn't think that was even possible.

The President does speak now to John Lloyd on his twitter feed. It was the crowds what done it. 2000 below estimate apparently. Bonkers forecasting. No anger though just acceptance of the situation.

How very Presidential.

This guy makes a mockery of the title.

Get out, get out now.

I want a proper figurehead at my club or none at all.

Yeah he sounds really feckin upset for them!

Gates 2k below forecast? So they have been budgeting for what 8300? That's pretty feckin unbelieveable if correct. Chris doesn't have the details yet he knows the figure the forecast gates is and how much below they are.

Who in their right mind told Brent to expect over 8k through the turnstiles every game? Last seasons average was well below that and still the same shit is churned out week in week out.

We are 19th in the league, currently only 4 points off a relegation places, and unless we beat Burton tonight, that's where we will be for a while yet. 6 and 7 points behind our local rivals who could only dream of averaging over 6300.

Anyone with any sense knows that it would take an incredible leap of faith to believe that Fletcher will be able to turn it around from this dross to challenging for promotion next season. So Fletcher has Brent's backing and the fans who still support Fletcher are saying that all along this season was about rebuilding and it's all going to come together next season.

So someone has advised James Brent that our crowds would increase by around 1500 every game on last season, while in a transition period where mid-table obscurity was the aim?

So Brent's bullshit about challenging for promotion budget has been dismissed by these fans, yet they still want people to trust in Brent? Which is correct guys? Is he a liar about the budget? If he is a liar on this, how do you expect people to trust him on anything else?

Chris Webb. From protester to president, from survival and saviour to serene and shrugging shoulders.

I would love to hear from any of his "comrades" who were advised of "restructuring" at Royal Mail and see if Chris Webb was quite so meek about the news then.

It would have been "We have to take action comrades" "We cannot lie down and let the fatcats walk all over the workforce"

WANKER

He's had a twitter conversation with John Lloyd this morning- still time for digs. The first post was made at the bottom, with the latest being the top tweet-

@John_Lloyd totally agree with both those statements JL and how everyone connected with the Club could do with 3 points tonight!

@John_Lloyd ..that my sole concern is that the staff are treated right and as they deserve. I'm sure we'd all support that.

@John_Lloyd I think that's any workplace, John. People are not stupid. 2k below forecasted crowds over course of yr = issue. I reiterate ...

2h Chris Webb ‏@Chris_Webb1
@John_Lloyd that's exactly the way it should be. For too long, the staff found out via the Herald/Pasoti etc. interesting times.

@John_Lloyd I think the restructuring could be part of the recovery as in round pegs in round holes etc. Don't have the facts and I think...

@John_Lloyd ... That is needed rather than small % using them as an excuse to continue petty rows / make snipes based on rumour.

@John_Lloyd definitely, John. At such a sensitive time though it is right that those staff are given the information and support...

The problem with Chris's assessment is that the 'small percentage' is growing day by day and there's little the club has done to manage that. Also there's a vague tint of hypocrisy in someone decrying petty rows and snipes based on rumour when his (REAL) friend has been running around doing exactly that.

It's very difficult to be the leader of the dogs of war one year and then stepping straight into a 'there's nothing to see here' mode the next. There's clearly something to see and ask questions about, not least the optimism/incompetence of budgeting for over 8,000 home attendances. I'd be suprised if we've had more than 8,000 in at home more than a handful of times since we went down to L1.

You don't just not announce redundancies, no matter what business. If you don't announce, the trade union will or if it's an organisation with a strong community interest the news will get out. So you manage it the best way you can. First you hold your meeting with staff and then you put out a very brief statement announcing the statutory period of redundancy, saying that it's hoped that most of the very small number of redundancies will come from people opting for voluntary redundancies, and then a quote from the CFO saying "Our mission when we took over the club was to put the club on a sustainable footing for the future after five years of mismanagement. To do that often means taking difficult decisions about staffing at the club, especially when current staffing levels are higher than at many of our competitors. We will be making no further comment at this time." Even if that's bollocks, it's official and it stops it being dripped out by those in the know and by affected staff.

I'm not knocking the club's comms team, by the way (they've enough of that already, both inside and outside the club): this is a management fail.

The Fanfest marquee (not knocking the GTs) and away coach trips are obviously the new Herald/Pasoti.

Every single point absolutely spot on, Gareth.

Just one thing to add:

Chris Webb wrote:

Strangely enough, when people see something (or in this case a lot of things) they find plain wrong, they'll keep on saying so. And these are not petty things, or snipes, or rumours. They're facts.

I just don't get how anyone with any knowledge of Plymouth Argyle and football could possibly think that we would average 8,000 in this dog shit of a division. It's not even close. Frankly I'm amazed that we're still getting over 6000 home fans through the gate. That's remarkable loyalty and support.

The 8,000 figure is simply staggering.

Just about as staggering as the 20,000 fanbase who were all going to jump at becoming involved with the club via the representative PASBoard.
