Saxon Earley ruled out for three months

Plymouth Argyle left-back Saxon Earley has an ankle ligament injury which will require an operation early next week, Steven Schumacher has confirmed.

The 20-year-old is set to be ruled out for three months, which the Pilgrims' boss admitted was 'a big blow' for Earley and for the club.

Earley had impressed Schumacher during pre-season and when he made his first Championship start in the away game against Watford on August 12 he put in an excellent performance during the 0-0 draw.

Beggar it. Seems to be something about the left wing back/full back position at Argyle that attracts injuries-Earley, Galloway, Gilhespey. Shame because apparently he had a storming game at Watford, good luck to him for a quick recovery. Wonder if Schuey will review the signings situation or go with the current squad to fill the gap?

shame for him as it would have been great to see him build on his performance against Watford moving forward. Hope his rehab goes well and he can pick up where he left off when hes back.

As for signing a replacement i cant see it to be honest not for 3 months in anycase and when we have Mumba, Miller and Kesler-Hayden who can play left back or left wing back whatever where going with these days there isnt a dire need to do that imo.

Here we go, another season of players out for months on end.  Miller and Galloway are well overdue another long term injury.
