Bit of a shame to see Suffered and Reg at each others throats.

Most championship clubs seem to have been playing lower division opposition this summer with very mixed results and doubtful if they will have much bearing either on early season results or final standings in the championship. It was a bit disturbing to read that Argyle didn't really look like scoring today and that Swindon outmuscled them-the championship has an element of strength as well as technique and that will need to be addressed very quickly because Warnock's team certainly won't be found lacking in that regard. Argyle do seem to be very light up front now with only Waine and Hardie as out and out strikers, losing Ennis and Cosgrove has left the squad looking very threadbare in that area and hopefully that will be strengthened soon if not before Huddersfield. Still looking forward to next week though and a much better idea of how things really stand will be clearer at five o'clock on Saturday.

Yes, strikers should now be the priority for Schuey.  Can't rely on just Morgs to score the goals.  Waine I really don't think is up to it.  We would look a different team if we hadn't let Ennis get away. Think we need experience in CM too.  But 2x strikers to replace Cosgrove and Ennis is now extremely urgent.  Very nervous going into next Saturday now.

Bit of a downer to lose at Swindon. Defence all over the place apparently ?.

Had a look at friendlies HTFC have played, they certainly have scored a few goals in the games.

Exactly !!

Friendlies mean sod all other than getting fit for the upcoming campaign, trying out formations and giving players game time..

A side could win all their friendlies by playing blinding footie and banging in goals for fun, only to find themselves in the bottom three of whatever division 10 games in.

Absolutely right as it gives some idea how players and current tactics perform in a reasonably competitive atmosphere. Of course it's also a means of amusement if an arrogant near neighbour comes a cropper Wink

Hugh, if you think Argyle are arrogant then just wait until City reach the championship [unlikely admittedly] and see the attitude of some fans of clubs in that division........

I agree with Greenskin, save your animosity for the opposition girls, life's too short, enjoy our little bit of success while you can.

You read me wrong, Mr G. I thought the winky/ smiley emoticon would show my post was in jest. As I've grown used to the mostly good-natured witticisms regarding me and my team I thought you could have one fecking back Wink Wink Wink
