Neither of these teams look likely to lift the WC.

Disappointed with Holland, reluctantly have to say the Argies merited the win overall. Damn.

Just hate penalty shoot-outs and it is a terrible way to conclude a match. Felt sorry for Japan who got dumped out by Croatia, as I was impressed with how they went about the games they played.

Brazil getting knocked out was a shock but fair shout to Croatia, they never gave up in the 120 minutes of play and they won the lottery. Brazil were favourites to win the WC and now they go back to South America with much soul searching to do.

Was hoping Argentina would screw up in their penalties but alas they didn't and Messi and Co live to fight on.

Just hope England V France does not go to the dreaded penalty shoot-out.

The only way that isn't a foul on Kane is if it happens in the knockouts of the WC. Ffs.

That'll be goodnight from England then. France simply the better side. Southgate will probably step down after this.

Comical cnut. The main difference is the ref should be one all. Oh and we should have had a free kick for the foul on Saka before their goal. Well taken goal but Pickford and Bellingham should do better.

Should have expected another fookin hard luck story i s'pose. England didn't cash in on their second half superiority and the frogs have players who can conjure up a goal even when they're seemingly out of the game. Absolute cnut of a ref but no excuses really, England simply don't seem capable of beating top opposition when it matters.

Same old same old impress the the media and fans against teams they should be beating then fail to perform against teams on the same level or above.

This is why i will always refer to Southgate as the biggest blagger in football.

The only way we would have managed to win that is if Southgate was managing France. Shame Grealish couldn't manage to win for England with the 45 seconds he had, ffs Harry dont blame you but fook what a pen to miss! I feel agrieved because we choked a bit and we didn't use the strongest bench we've had in years. Feck off Southgate.

No way am I a hater but I think you have a point because every other nation has a national pride yet about 46% of this country absolutely hate it. Nationalism is seen as racism, we need to man the fook up.
Ps Southgate out.

Normally you'd bet your mortgage on Kane scoring from a pen, but he wasn't even close. That said we played well and deserved more than that, but if you don't take your chances against a top side you don't win. (Something many League 1 managers have said this year about Argyle Very Happy )

No doubt Southgate will get the blame, but there's no reason for him to go, under him we've been the best we've been for years and are serious challengers for the World Cup and Euros, the first time that's been the case for a long time.

Southgate has choked at the quarters yet again despite having the most talented squad in living memory. He bought players on one minute before pens in the euros and last night he bought Grealish on for less than a minute wtf did he think he would do in that time?
I am not a fan of his at all.

i cant blame him for England's exit as i dont believe had he scored it England would have gone on to win. I would if i where to point fingers ask what the f maguire was doing with his marking of Giroud that allowed him to score.
