| Argyle Women travel to St James Park on Sunday, to take Exeter City in the first round of the Devon County Cup. The Greens have already beaten their Devon rivals once this season, when Gabi Alphous and Jemma Rose scored to give Argyle a 2-0 win in the National League Cup. Ryan Perks’ side haven’t played since the start of the month with no game last weekend. With two wins from their last five games, they will be looking to get back to form after losing their last two games. Sunday’s match at the home of Exeter City is a repeat of last season’s final of this competition, when a young Argyle side were beaten by the Grecians at Coach Road in Newton Abbot. You can get along to St James Park to show your support for the 2pm kick off. Tickets can be bought from newtickets.ecfc.co.uk The IP Office Main Stand will be open for the match with reserved seating. Tickets can also be purchased in the club shop/reception and on matchday via the Ticket Booth in Red Square. Admission prices are as follows: Adults: £5 Under-18s: £3 Up to last weekend Exeter have sold over 2,000 seats I got mine today from a Exeter City player |

| Perfect advert for women's football as record crowd see Exeter City beat Plymouth Argyle
There were 1380 inside St James Park to see the penalty shootout victory in the Devon Cup for the Grecians
Exeter City Women’s return to St James Park couldn’t have been scripted any better as a record crowd saw them defeat rivals Plymouth Argyle on penalties.
Zoe Cunningham rocketed in a 30-yard free-kick that went in off the crossbar to put the Pilgrims ahead against the run of play in the first half, before with 15 minutes to go, Zoe Watkins swept home a deserved equaliser.
In front of 1380 fans, including men’s first team players Tim Dieng and Jevani Brown, the Devon Cup tie went to penalties, and goalkeeper Abbi Bond was the hero, denying Natasha Knapman and Cunningham, with all four City penalties being scored.
It was a perfect day and a perfect advert for women’s football, with the Grecians claiming the cupset over their Devon rivals, who play in the league above, with fans staying long after the final whistle to celebrate, take selfies with the team, and get autographs from the players it was a joyous and celebratory atmosphere.
It now means that Exeter City have beaten Plymouth Argyle the last time the sides have met in men's football, women's football, and at U23 and U18 level. |
