Adams in talks with Premier League club over loan signing

Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams has admitted talks with a Premier League club over the possible loan signing of a central midfielder have slowed down.

The deadline for EFL clubs to complete any such deals is August 31 and Adams admitted he would be ‘disappointed’ if he was not able to bring in the player he has targeted.

Adams told Plymouth Live: “I am working on it. I am working with a Premier League club at this moment in time, but it has slowed down a wee bit.

“It has gone to their transfer committee and it is sitting with them. We are just trying to get an agreement but we haven’t had one yet.

“I have been working on it over the last 10 days. It was going at a pace and it has slowed down.

“We have got other options but not ones we are desperate to do.”

With the return to action of midfielder Antoni Sarcevic in the 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers at Home Park on Tuesday night after a groin injury, Adams has a fully fit squad.

However, he has made it clear from the start of pre-season that he wanted to bring in a central midfielder to complement the players he already has.

Adams said: “You always want to add quality players to your squad if you can and that’s what we are trying to do.”

The club whoever it is probably holding out for a better L1 team with better players and not plummeting to the bottom of the table.

Premier league club if there as good as the two you got from Everton Del bhey I would give it a right swerve if I was you get silent si to pull up a proper transfer fee for a decent experienced L1 central midfielder instead
