Good luck to him. It was clearly the end of the line for him after Wycombe but he did nothing to deserve any lingering resentment or dislike from the fanbase in my opinion.

Let's hope there are no wannabe bigshots in the Newport fanbase who are relying on him to toady up to them.

Agreed. Whatever his faults he did a great job under difficult circumstances.

Ditto, I'm no fan of the South Wales clubs but good luck to Sherry.

If he's willing to commute to a shithole nothing club in Wales who are financially straight-jacketed, he either desperately needs employment, or it must have been bad at HP for him to walk away.

Yep, good luck to him-did a good job for Argyle, under rated in some quarters, there's no question that the basis of the currently successful team was built by him. Tough job for him at Newport but I suppose it's a bit of a no lose situation in a way-can't do any worse than Butcher.

And is it really much worse than the shambles he inherited from Carl Fletcher?

They'll be ok.

Good luck to him. Although he had to leave after last season, he did a very good job while he was here.

Taking us from almost certain relegation to the conference to the brink of Wembley was quite an achievement, even if the football wasn't the best.

This is true. He's got first hand experience of dealing with a basket case club. Much like Asti, I've no time for Third world country sides, but I wish Shez all the best.

He had to go but wish him all the best.

We were shite when he took over and he made us slightly less shite.

Sheridan had a decent wage bill to bring additions in, to turn around aforementioned shambles.

Don't think he'll get that at Newport County, but I am not familiar with the circumstances of their plight.

strange he would have taken this job given its not that much nearer to sheffield than Plymouth but nevermind that. I wish him all the best and luck there. Shezza did a good job here despite the contray to others trying to say otherwise and if he can keep us up after inheriting that shower of shite from Fletcher then Newport stand a very good chance.

Warren Feeney being lined up to be his number 2.

About where I am on it. Good luck to him but glad he's not at Argyle any longer. Also telling that he hasn't landed a better job closer to home.

Sheridan is nowhere near the best manager we've ever had, but he did an OK job given the situation, and the not inconsiderable sniping throughout his tenure from the likes of the club president. I believe he would rather have signed on than carried on working here. Probably detested the place in the end. The dye appeared to be set when he refused to pay homage to the superfans. They really do give a certain smell to the club. Of course, by dissing the manager, they keep Jimmy clear of blame. Perfik.

Let's hope Derek Adams, who seems a pretty genuine guy, gets a fairer shake. It's one thing for fans to give of their opinion, that's always been the case, but it really is distasteful for those connected with the club to brief so negatively. It reminded me of Sturrock having a weekly pop at Mariner when they were both employed at the club. Third rate characters, the lot of them.

It's been a textbook start for Adams. There's really been no tipping point for him to show any darker side to his character - which in all fairness he has shown in the past, to have. The proof of the pudding with him will be when something fairly major goes tits up, either behind the scenes or on the pitch.

For now, it's all good.

A couple of key injuries will light the fireworks. He'll use the media to push for support from upstairs

Good. That's his job, to get more investment in the playing staff. Employees have as much right to use the media as the owner has to plead poverty.
I remember the first public spat between Warnock and Dan over Corrazin.

I'm surprised Sheridan has taken the Newport job in honesty.

His CV and record has been with higher challenges and bigger clubs, and he's done reasonably well in meeting those objectives.

He must have been desperate to get back into football.

Who was the last manager to leave Argyle and get another job? Sturrock?
