The block function on FB makes it seem sometimes that people are talking to themselves.
Unless that person says 'Ian' or 'Frank' and then I know that they are replying to Newell or Harper.

There's lots of history on passata going way back even before Brent. The bon ami Newell showed was more driven by a desire to slip a ringer into the Fans' trust than anything else. He also shows a particular trait of befriending who he sees as useful people until he has secured his foot on the next rung up. Harper was always a very involved fan going back a long way.. In the days of "the man and his fine family", the two were often at loggerheads with Newell digging at Harper holed up in the Golden Hind. If anything, you can imagine the conservations. Their temporary arrangement showed just how much they both detest the AFT and all that it could stand for.

Yes. He was also very vociferous at one meet the fans thing back in the days of Pulis as I remember, around about the same time the pitch cover was being acquired.

Is there anyone else out there who has fallen out with as many Argyle fans as Newell? The list continues to grow. Obviously he is blameless on each occasion.
