PostSubject: Reduced budget next season   Reduced budget next season EmptyFri Dec 20, 2013 12:36 pm

I've heard that there will be a drastically reduced budget for the manager to work with next season.

I believe a fair few current players will be out of contract then so their wages could be offloaded and cheaper options brought in.

I'm thinking that whatever we achieve this season it will be a long while before we have such riches to play with again.

I recks Tyler Harvey might get a game then.

This whole venture is a cost-cutting exercise.
James Brent cares nothing for the club, his only intent is for PAFC is to be at best a lower mid table league 2 side, how can he justify his argument that an 17,500 stadium is big enough when a team doing well in the bottom division is getting 5 figure crowds for home games ?!!
James Brent will keep Argyle small-time until he has his Evil and Despicable development ...and after that God only knows.
Reduced budget next season?!! This shit gets worse with every passing day.
Wake me up when this nightmare is over.

Isnt he working with next to nothing now already?

Jesus wept when will it sink in with Brent that he has to invest in the club with his own money in order for the club to push on and start attracting more money and importantly fans back to Home Park.

Still im just greatful for the very small pisstake of a grandstand and the 17,500 capacity stadium he has handicapped us for life with.

5 figure crowds Punchie ?

And angry......... bankers only invest other peoples' money, not their own, unless it's a sure thing and they have insider info. That's why he's happy for the GT's , Noolie and Nik to play with the train set.

If Argyle were playing decent football and were in with a shout of promotion they would be pulling in 9/10,000 for home games regularly just like they were the last time we steamrollered this league.
The very last thing Jimmy Boy wants to happen is exactly that as it will make his mini-stand vision for the future look quite ridiculous.

Look, without wishing to start another race war, Harry.P took over a club which, despite its huge crowds and massive history, was £17 million in debt with no revenue streams to service that debt, do you not think that "a cost-cutting exercise" was in order?

You are still £5 million in debt with, apparently, insufficient revenue streams despite the selfless benevolence of Nikk the Userer to service that debt, QED. Costs are still too high.

Your crowds are averaging just under 7k which is nearly half Portsmouth's so a big well done for that, yet you are still potless. Those of you now whining about your playing budget while the likes of Accy, Dags and Morecambe get by on less than or slightly above a quarter of that and others, including the Mighty ECFC and the poor old Turks would give their eye teeths for the same budget, please, please, please, get over it.

Five points off the relegation zone and could easily be less tomorrow and already looking over our shoulder on what the reluctant one says is a competetive budget this season. With a reduced budget? ...more crap football, less crowds and increased relgation fears.
This is just continual shite!

It's not a case of having to get over anything. I guess it's a case of what you want to be. Think small, act small or think big, act big. We've tasted the championship in recent years and want the same again, it's no good being content with playing the likes of ECFC, Morecambe, Burton etc....

The local bucket rattlers are still in the limelight though. That's the main thing. Rolling Eyes

Brent doesn't do failure, he's a fan after all. Or is he going to sink us in the Conference we because we won't all bend over and be grateful for the clusterfuck? Brent out now.

You forgot think Big, be shiite, run up a £17 million bill you can't pay then finish up in the Sunday League.

To be content with playing the likes of Burton, Morecambe or yes, even the Mighty ECFC, you have to improve a lot.

Good clubs are good from the top to bottom, we have a disinterested business man at the top of our club who is more interested in asset stripping than who we play week to week.

The last lot were no better. Outclassed and greedy. The chances of us ever now acquiring an owner with the vision required to unleash the club's potential, diminishes with each passing day .

Well, not much actually, if anything. He hasn't invested anything in the club, he's given loans, which obviously means he'll get those back at some point.

Together with the money he'll make from the HHP development (if it happens), he won't be out of pocket.

Wow, 8 whole years, really?

That's nearly twice as long as you have now been below a tiny little club like Exeter. All things considered I would have to say that you would seem to have about as much chance of getting back into the Championship as we have of getting there for the first time, how do you feel about that?

Big time Charlies to small time losers in a trice with what's left of the fan base in denial, it's a sad, sad sight to behold.

I'd expect a reduction in budget if the grandstand is demolished as all of the overheads and running costs won't exist. Changing rooms are likely to be portacabins so electric bills etc. will be lower - I dread to think how inefficient the current grandstand is in terms of heating/lighting and upkeep.
If it's playing budget, we're in for a great time.
