| My mate went uni there so I mainly went to student places. L2 was pretty good and saw some decent bands there. The rest was a bit of a blur.

| The one and only time I went out in Liverpool was after I went to see Everton beat Newcastle 4-0. It was Tony Cottees debut for Everton and he scored a hattrick. Don't think he scored many more all the time he was there.
Graham Sharp partnered him and was outstanding.
That night we went in 5 or 6 pubs which all had metered beer and were full of dodgy blokes selling watches or leather jackets "100% Italian leather honest mate.£500 in the shops but you can have one for sixty notes"
One pub had a pool table so I asked the barman what change it took and got a load for a few games. Put the first 50p in and no cue ball came out so did the usual cues down the pockets, lifting the table and still no white so asked the barman if their was a white ball and he said "No. Some fucker robbed it weeks ago and I'm not paying for another"
cnut could've told me when I asked for change!
It was a total shithole but probably some nice places now. |
