Brent wants even more land at HHP!!

Not that I'm happy, but this was all in the planning application. Rather begs the question why that got nodded through when the land ownership wasn't all dealt with, though.

PCC should remove 5 year the buy back clause from the lease for the extra land, which is due to kick in not long after the development is complete.

It was the aspect that really got my goat all along. Brent got the HHP land at a (market value) snip and knew all along that he would have to encroach on the leased back ground land, that's the land that should have been used to build the best facilities possible for the football club and the rest of the development should have been constrained to the HHP land that was sold to him.

We all know the arguments about the necessity to maximize the return from the development so the club could get it's "free" stand, but it's not one I buy as the only solution that was possible.

Basically, Akkeron own the freehold on 2.27 acres and if this goes through they'll get another 1.22 acres.

I think that 1.22 acres was once described as 'a few yards'.

Am I simplifying this too much? - if the powers that be don't give him what he wants, it will jeopardize the whole chabanc?

So basically Akkeron are getting an 68% increase in the amount of land they own (3.49 acres vs 2.27)

Got love IJN's comment. "Not a land grab, just a transfer from leashold to freehold" He either doesn't know what the difference between leasehold and freehold is, or he's a patsy for Brent/Akkeron.

I suppose that's hypothetically true, but if you're pinning your hopes on the Reluctant Bidder's patsy council saying "no" to him then I fear you'll be hugely disappointed.

Wasn't the same "suck it up or I feck the club over" threat used to browbeat one of the staff into reluctantly agreeing to a deal over his unpaid wages that he wasn't happy with? I can't recall the particular employee's name.

For someone with all this "honesty" and " integrity" he sure has a nice line in ruthless strong-arm tactics. (I shall resist the temptation to use the obvious word for his behaviour on the grounds that he's not slow to run to his lawyers).

But as he said when he finally surfaced after scheming to get hold of the club and land for months first arrived on the scene, he probably won't make any profit on the deal. He's only doing what was necessary to save your club.

Tony Campbell I believe who was then made out to be the bad guy and became the subject of threats and abuse if I recall correctly. This bespectacled timid young non-property developing saviour certainly knows how to play hardball.

This has been part of the plan agreed months if not years ago with the council, they just need to drip feed the shite to the proles carefully over a scheduled amount of time.
