From the mighty Greens on Screen:-

Seven years ago today, the last hat-trick from a #pafc player (Pericard) - by far the longest without out one.

Vincent Pericard - in probably the only game in which he did anything worthwhile in a green shirt.

Much like the moment in the Olympics when the US 4 x 100m relay team finally wiped out the drug-laden East Germans from the record books once and for all, we need someone else to be the "last scorer of a hat-trick for Argyle".

The question should be ""Who will it be?".

The more pertinent question is "When will it be?"

Pericard was awful for most of his loan spell- didn't he score something like 4 in 15 games and three of them came against a very aging and poor Coventry side (I think their defence were all in their mid 30s).

I can't see any of our current side ever scoring a hattrick- we're very lucky if we get a player having a "hattrick" of shots on goal!

Maybe when we're fighting for the playoffs from the Blue Square South in 2015 we might see one.

He was pretty bad but not as bad as Leon Clarke who failed to score once.

My abiding memory of watching Pericard play was that he couldn't stay on his feet - he was like bleddy Bambi.

I think one of his first clubs was Juventus affraid (he must have been another Cherno Samba).

Didn't Pericard also get speed camered at Deep Lane (doing over 100mph) and falsely claimed it was his step father driving (which led to a prison sentence)?

I always thought Pericard had some serious class about him. He was lazy, sure, and didn't do very much overall but that hatrick was just so well taken...if Pulis had been more adventurous in his formations at the time (Chadwick in midfield, etc), then who knows!

Oh for the team to score three in a match....let alone one player.

But lets try walking before we try running....how about three goals in one calender month to start with.
