Reading between the lines, it actually sounds more like he'd be quite happy to leave:

So if he's on £1500 or even £2K what quality of 2 or 3 playwers are we going to get for maybe a third of that weekly wage? Let's spend it where it's needed on 1 good striker.

To be honest I thought Purse would have been a good signing, a 'been there and done it' pro, who ought to find League 2 well within his abilities. But it hasn't turned out like that, especially this season, too many mistakes, turns like a tanker, a ridiculous sending off, and falling out with others at the club.
