If only Milner had hit the net with the effort from the right hand side early on we could be looking at draws now to get us through the group. Still better for us than France, another team that doesn't look all that brilliant.

It's all kicking off in Warsaw now with the Poles and Russians...

Crazy that the Polish authorities allowed the Russians to march through Warsaw on the day of the game and a Russian holiday. What did they think was going to happen?

If Poland lose it could get pretty damn ugly after the game.

Did you see the "THIS IS RUSSIA" flag? F*ck me, now THAT is what you call a flag!

Also in terms of stirring National Anthems, Russia's is even better than Italys'. Very Happy

Good end to end game. I'm not so confident about Russia now, but Poland are scrapping for their lives. Arshavins much better for Russia than he is for Arsenal, but he does fanny around with it too much sometimes.

I really don't get what all the fuss is about Balotelli.

Okay he's scored a few good goals, but hey, I could probably bang them in with the quality of service he gets at Man City.

Maybe I'm missing something, but to me he just looks like a common or garden striker, with a serious attitude problem. scratch

I agree Czarky. Balobelly is hugely overrated ... and as such he is playing the Kevin Petersen hand .... score one, miss five, but do it with style and create a stir.... it's classic circus.

Pro football is a circus, and come to think of it, so is most of life, so I guess there's a place for the odd charletan, if only to get peoples' gander up.

He thinks he has five minutes to make his mind up and choose his spot whenever he has a shooting chance. He doesn't dribble, isn't great in the air and has mental health issues. Other than that he's world class.

Man Utd's Howard Webb doesn't seem to be doing too bad a job (for a change). Maybe he's scouting Modric for Fergie?

Italy almost score two but two good saves from the Croatia keeper from Italy's#8.

Slaven Bilic - FFS smarten yourself up, man. Even in a suit, he excels in managing to look like a total spiv.

Still no game has been goalless, and none of them have been really dull. Now that I've said that England will play out a tedious 0-0 draw with Sweden tomorrow Sleep

If only Scotland were there to make it really exciting.

Ireland concede early in the second half to Silva and look out (2-0). Shay Given hasn't looked too good in the last two games and doesn't seem fully fit.

More crap Eire defending from a Spanish corner. Easy goal for Fabregas 4-0 (b'stard as I predicted 3-0)

Have you ever watched the film Sliding Doors Iggy? If Milner's effort had gone in the whole of the rest of the game would have been different. We could have let in 3 or scored another 3, who knows?

Wouldn't mind a bolt or two hitting Carroll later.

Wake up Andy.
