Free Transfer Market and released players

Any chance we can sticky this so everyone can have an input throughout pre-season.

Just noticed alot of players are being released or put on the transfer list already, possible targets, players we could tempt or players we have no chance of getting.

David James - Bristol City
Jamal Cambell-Ryce - Bristol C
Paul Connolly - Leeds
Alex Bruce - Leeds
Lloyd Sam - Leeds
Mikael Forssell - Leeds
Danny Webber - Leeds
Andy Griffin - Reading
Brian Howard - Reading

I assume this is the list of those we have no chance of getting.

Purse was being released after not playing much for Millwall, had just completed an average loan spell at Yeovil and is 35. He was bound to sign for Argyle.

I'd be surprised, but if there was one player on the list I'd love to have back it would be he. Surely his stock as a proven CCC fullback (with Argo, Derby & Lids) would mean he'd be aiming higher, though. Be interesting to see why Leeds are releasing him..

Wouldn't mind Freddy Eastwood or Izzy McCleod. I wouldn't think Eastwood would want to leave Essex though, and Southend would have a huge head start on anyone wanting him.

McCleod would be interesting. Scored loads for Barnet, who were as poor as us this season.
