Someone needs their arse kicked here. Shorely they know precisely how long it’d take to get a pitch fit for purpose? Do the wanky concerts a week or two earlier innit? Geez.

there is no excusing that proper amateur from the club. I trust who ever decided to rent out home park for the concerts and whoever decided to book the friendlies are given a rollicking so this doesnt happen again.

Just aswell we didnt attract a big club down and had to cancel cause we left it too late to re seed the pitch after booking a rod stewart concert that didnt even finish late in the day.

Could well be the Groundsman that’s got this hopelessly wrong. You’d hope and expect that before booking concerts, they’d get clarification from him exactly how long he’d need to get the pitch game-ready. Either way it’s piss poor.

even so those concerts where booked well in advance and we didnt even start looking for teams to play for pre season till late april so they must have known we where cutting it fine timewise if we planned to relay the pitch.

No so sure it’s the groundsmans fault ..his always seem to get the pitch A1 condition over the past few seasons ..who ever done the booking at the clubs more likely the blame ..cos our pitch was not if the best in League for a few years now

It all literally comes down to timescales doesn’t it. There has to have been a conversation about how long it takes to seed the pitch after the concert stage is taken down. Then the first game gets scheduled. And they’ve got it badly wrong.

i would like to think the groundsman pointed out to the club when the announced the home friendlies that there wouldnt be enough time to get it ready after the Rod Stewart concert. Again, whoever made the call to book these games needs a bollocking.

Also, fans are going to suffer as a result of this more so as first home game of the new season will be chaos getting into the stadium as the new staff the club hired wont have had chance to blood in so there is going to a knock on effect of sorts.
