I listened to a podcast a while ago on that actual problem and unbelievably the Romanians aren't following best practice guidelines during their "treatment" of our waste, chopping up fridges for scrap and just releasing all the gas, burning plastic which leaves a toxic pall over the town, it's an absolute joke.

Tbf it's not Plymouth as a whole that stinks just the stench of Nool that leads to the Plympton pong.
