Eddy update

RYAN Edwards begins the next stage of his treatment for testicular cancer this week.

The Pilgrims' centre-back will undergo a short course of chemotherapy to help combat the disease.

Eddy, 24, has already had surgery after diagnosis of the cancer earlier this year.

Since news of his illness has become public, the football world has rallied around Ryan in a remarkable way, with the hashtag [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] spreading far and wide - most recently when former Morecambe team-mate Paul Mullis revealed a shirt bearing the message after scoring for Swindon on Saturday.

Eddy said: "I am more than overwhelmed by the messages of amazing support that keep coming in. I cannot thank everyone at Argyle enough, especially the Green Army, and am humbled at the way football has come together.

"I am looking forward to kicking this thing and getting back in a green and white shirt as soon as possible."
