Why are the number one test team in the world so rubbish. I could hardly bear to watch the inevitable unfold this morning. Get Tringy in.

Couldn't watch pale

Looks like it needs to be horses for courses and most of the batsmen should stay at home when we play away to india , pakistan and sri lanka. There must be better players of spin in England somewhere.

Total embarrassment.

I almost knew England were going to lose after about two overs of their innings ths morning. They just let Pakistan dominate and build pressure, absolutely no attempt to seize the initiative. Can't imagine great openers of the past such as Hayden,Greenidge or Barry Richards batting in such a pawky, unsightly fashion. It may have been an idea to send Swann or someone in first with the remit to get a few quick runs on the board, couldn't have turned out any worse.Hope hubris hasn't set in with the England camp-looks very similar to the aftermath of the 2005 series, when England were also well beaten by Pakistan.

Well that was a drubbing and no excuses.Bowling was ok,batting was atrocious, absolutely clueless against a couple of excellent bowlers in Saeed and Gul and some other pretty ordinary ones.So typical of England teams which reach the top, then subside-the rugby team after they won the world cup and the cricket team after the Ashes 2005 being prime examples.I would think that second chances will be given to the England batting line up bearing in mind the success of recent years but hubris must not be allowed to set in-the great Australian teams of the 1990/2000's were prime examples of good players being very quickly replaced if they weren't cutting the mustard and possibly the Indian team is a good example of following the opposite way.

Rahul Dravid retires...

He was a class act.

India won 1 Test overseas in 48 attempts in the era pre-Rahul. A shame he went to Australia, his 3 centuries last summer in England would have been a much more fitting end.
