You should have made the meet at Penzance for Mazey Day. A fine day out, cheap as chips on the train, with lots of merriment here there and everywhere. Ho hum. Wonder if I'll bump into a few of the banana bus boys again in the White Lion, along with the Falmouth Marine Band.

8pm to 9pm: Joey the Lips – the nation's funkiest, fast and furious 10-piece band

9.15pm to 10.30pm: Toyah Willcox and band – performing classic hits

It was very good last year with the mighty Red hot Chilli Pipers doing their thang to good effect.

Might just pop along. Joey The Lips are always great and I'm told Toyah is unexpectedly wonderful live by people who saw her at Newnham a year or two back.

I understand a few of them are off down to Penzance on the train for their usual Mazey Day shenanigans!
