What tactics would you employ against Liverpool ?

I can't see that negative Argyle tactic working again at home, and Kloppp may well want to put it to bed by half time with a more experienced starting eleven. I think Adams needs to come up with a surprise or two early on to have a chance of winning this tie. In such a no lose scenario, one can go for something quite unorthodox, provided the Argyle players have the capacity to do it. In the end it's eleven against eleven, and surprise can put even the most skilled twerps out of joint.

Argo didn't cower, the scousers were to clueless to score, Adams got a result at Anfield yes Anfield but we've had this chat before.
Can argo win? yes, by going longball and kicking everyball and every bloke in a red shirt.

Well we could take the game to them and get royally stuffed to please Freathy or play as the away team as we did against Doncaster and hope for a draw and penalties

Why do you say cowering.......surely a case of "horses for courses".......it was never seen as negative play.....any other approach at Anfield would have meant being blown away before half-time....allowing a Premiership club to catch you on the break because you had put too much into attacking would have brought disaster very quickly.

Similar tactics to the ones we employed in the first leg.

Sit deep, contain, hit them on the counter. Maybe use our full-backs' width a bit more to fulfil that last one a bit better than we did in the away leg, being home and all this time.

No one is advocating turn off the lights and launch the task force. Just something a bit more creative and surprising to put the woossy tippy tappers off their stroke. Sitting in the same formation ten to fifteen yards off the man won't cut it and that will now be expected. Get closer. Second rate teams like Argyle have few cards up their sleeve. Harrying is one of them. Forget the ear tickling, party tricks like that won't win a game. And hoping for a half chance free kick settling it is not a game plan. You do have to get near the opposing box.
The team to score first will win this game for all sorts of reasoning.

Nothing to do with the team but give every fan 2 pints on arrival. Get the tanked up masses going and give them something to get behind and then hope for the best.

I honestly don't think playing a flat back 10 again will keep them out for 120 minutes so we might as well go for it.

Play long and if no options up front put ball to corner flag area moving the play upfield.

I Doubt Liverpoool are going to play the sameway on Wednesday. They will play the reserves again. We got our pay days from them so i would like too see us have a good go at them.

Anything less than an all out assault on a par with the first crusade will disappoint.

As for penalties, they will have far too much composure and technique with penalties. It would be like England fluffing against Germany. No chance.

Defend the 1st half but a little better than they did at Anfield what i mean is close em down more and be in there faces. Then if we are lucky enough to go in 0-0 at H/T and lucky enough to win the toss then go out 2nd half and attack the demport end SHIT OR BUST Throw everythink at em including the kitchen and just HOPE!!

A penalty Shoot out is a 12 yard lottery. doesnt matter what level you play at when it comes to pens, its a leveller! If argyle go looking for an early goal they will get picked off. Keep it tight for as long as possible, have a little sniff in the last 10 minutes, Key is to stay in the game for as long as possible.

It isn't. Some players can kick a ball with more accuracy than others. It will be virtually the same side as at Anfield as they have 5 fixtures in the next 18 days, plus most of their squad will be on international duty so 6. Any 3 from lallana/Sturrige/Firmino or Coutinho may come on if its still tight after the hour mark.

Play absolutely brilliant football and win 5 - 0.  Then I woke up.

I would play high balls into there box. Liverpools main weakness is there lack of height in defence and there goalkeeper is a bit dodgy in the air.

Well i think i can take a penalty just as well as any professional, the main difference in a pressure cooker situation will be the mental aspect.

Our only chance is to batter them from start to finish. Defending for 90 mins or attempting to out football them won't work, the vast majority of their team will never have been in a real physical battle against lower league donkeys.
